Surely McGregor would be a better bet than the ailing Brown at the moment? Was he dropped because of injury?
Agreed but me and you would probably offer Celtic more in midfield just now than Scott Brown. :(

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
So he don't have stamina, but you'd stick him on the wing. Every good.

did you read the point where I said that he shouldn't be running up and down the line , early cross or through ball and then move inside to look outside the box - Tierney would do the running for him
Canīt remember having noticed anything making me think he doesnīt have the stamina. Only my vague impression, but still. Why do you think he doesnīt have the stamina? Heīs been injury free for five months now and he looks fit to me.

No I seen your point about "Scottish Beckham" that's when I commented that it would be best to play him in his natural position, the one that he's actually done well in.
Your idea is to play someone out of position as (in your opinion) he doesn't have the stamina to play in the middle.
You've then went on again to justify playing him on the wing, that guy with no stamina.
You also actually said that he doesn't have "defensive attributes" so going by your next post that means Teirney is doing the running and defending the whole left side himself?
Call me crazy but it's probably best to play the guy in his best position, which is clearly the middle.

By the way, did you ever see Beckham play? His team mates all commented on how fit he was, so I've no idea why you'd call it "Scottish Beckham" then claim the guy has no defensive attributes or stamina.

Moving into space and showing for a teammate when under pressure? Let's hope it catches on next season

Well played young sir. I was a massive critic when he was shunted out wide last season and looked lost. Worked his arse off today and made stuff happen. Embarrassed Broony and Biton with his work rate and productivity

Agree 100%. Was his biggest critic, especially when he played wide. Must play "in" the field to see the best of him

Underrated by quite a few I reckon. Movement, skill, passing, goals. So much to offer. One of the few bright lights this season

He was a revelation today. While being undoubtedly lightweight (in the literal sense), he is nippy, with quick feet and a sharp football brain. He finds space, and has a useful habit of drifting into dangerous positions and curling an accurate shot into the corner of the goal from outside the box. Hope he keeps it up under the new man!

Done well and deserves to be in and around the squad next season.

Some roasters at work reckon Scott Allan should stay and he should go. Can't believe that thinking!

Many people on here think the same, just have a look at the thread about our squad.
It's the same people that post their team line up with Armstrong playing, as apparently he deserves to play in the middle.
I've been a fan of McGregor even last season when we was playing wide right/left. He contributed more than other players but always seems to be the first to get criticism. He done well for a guy who's came through our youth team and had his first season playing with us. When he did go off the boil he was rightfully dropped, but he's shown a mental toughness to come back into the team that others clearly lack.
Since he's came back and played in the middle, he's looked a lot more composed. He has attributes that the other midfielders don't have, in that he wants to get on the ball and then keep it moving. Our play is so much better with him in the team as he drives from box to box.
He might be "lightweight" and gets pushed off the ball easy, but so do out other midfielders. He brings a lot more to our game then any of them do though.

Spot on

We dont have any midfielders that dominate the middle of the park and dont get pushed off the ball. You only need to look at bittons 'attempt' at winning the ball yesterday at the hearts goal. Complete powder puff. At least mcgregor is a good player when we have the ball , which domestically is most of the time.

I dont think hes as bad as some make out. Always going to be useful around the squad, i wonder what a real manager and coach could do to improve his game.

Agree totally re his current contribution, and as one of his early detractors I was wrong, and judging him whilst he was played out of position.

In fairness to you and to many other detractors, when he does play wide, hes bog standard. The season before he was a regular, he was down at notts county (i think) and played centre mid every week. He scored a barrel load of goals and was getting rave reviews. We take him up here and shove out wide into a position he cant play. Hopefully gets to play centre mid the last 3 games.

Alert and clever again - particularly in the first half.

Deserves a place in this team.

More guts and ability than I gave him credit for.

I wasn't his biggest fan, and doubt I'll ever see him as the fulcrum of our team, but he's a decent guy to have around. Keeps the ball moving, never hides and can pop up with a goal or two. Shouldn't be played wide at all though.

Yep, currently he deserves his place and is young enough to improve further.
