I've always admired his effort and his desire to get on the ball. He's quite fortunate in that this is about the only Celtic team in the last 20 years he's good enough to play for, but that's no his fault.
Most of them are fortunate in that respect.

Deserves his place just now.

Never thought I would be saying this- he is working hard, scoring goals and is a better player than I gave him credit for.

Has shown the backbone to battle back from being the fans whipping boy to be confident enough to get on the ball, take men on ,play passes and have a go at goal.

The finish yesterday was calm and clinical.

That said - this is the only Celtic team since Fergus took over that he would get close to.

He might be an idiot but always looking for the ball, can beat a man and scores goals. He's more of a footballer than Tierney but doesn't get anywhere near as much credit.

Not sure about that, he would walk into 94-95 (we finished 5th!) and remember that guys like Ross Wallace, Simon Lynch and Jamie Smith (none of them better players) all got decent game time under MON.
I'm not a massive fan of McGregor but have to say that what he can do he does very well and one of those things is take a chance, his scoring record is pretty decent and we need goals right now.

The Scottish Iniesta. Fantastic talent and it's bizarre the slating he gets on here.
Xavi surely?

People need to wrap this "limited player" pish when it comes to him.
He is quite quick, has good technique, gets stuck in, gets the ball moving forward, can spot a pass and can finish.

If the rest of the squad were as limited as him we'd be in a lot better position this season.
The "limited player" stuff makes me laugh too. This is the SPFL ffs. Every player in this league is "limited" or they would be elsewhere. He is so limited he was the best or close to being the best player on the top team in the SPFL today. That kind of limitation suits me just fine.
He is playing better than a few of our players and currently deserves his place. He shows energy levels way better than Brown or Biton who continue to look increasingly pedestrian which is a worry. Two good goals in as many games and putting in a shift. Long may it continue.

It's true, he looks like a wee pig farmer's son who wasn't strong enough to do any of the real work.

He's been very good for us in my opinion. Can change a game and better than Brown or Biton. But comparisons with Tierney? go and lie doon.

I'm not downplaying Tierney's efforts I just think it's strange that people cry out for players coming through the system and now there are a couple doing well but only one gets widespread approval.

I think it's been so long since we had a quality central creative player coming through most fans forget or don't make provision for the growing pains in developing a player like that, particularly in a side that has not been doing too well.

After struggling initially in the broken system of Barnes I think Petrov was our last decent one to emerge and his game was a fair bit more defensive minded; There was the older (at the time) Miller but most of us got it completely wrong with him, Liam was nothing more than decent enough to forge a career in football and we dodged a bullet wages wise. I hope a good few might have got it wrong with Callum again, he looks a real good prospect to me and is putting International colleagues to shame with his contribution.

The limited`player carry on is looking shaky because he keeps doing things his teammates can't, his finish at the weekend was beautifully composed and as he gets more game time we have witnessed again some nifty footwork and quick passing that is consistent with quality, he chases back too.

If he has reached a ceiling then he will only be a decent squad player in better times but I'm inclined to believe there's more to come should we continue to nurture him properly and if he really wants it, the drink drive thing has to be a one off incident for starters.

Probably the best player at the club for one v one situations with the keeper. Good scoring record in Europe and only 22. Miles better than Allan gms and Armstrong IMO.

Probably not good enough for the starting XI long term. But a starter right now and its good to see someone try hard for the shirt. Id have him in for the run in on current form.

When a player puts in obvious effort, shows for the ball, wants to drive forward, can chip in with a goal or two, is in the main not guilty of missed passes, goes in to challenge, tracks back etc... Why would you deny him a place in the team. If he's keeping someone out then let them step up and merit a first team place ahead of him.
