Sackable offence imo players should have it in there contracts any criminal activity your out the door same with Carlton Cole with the story about no paying bar bill theft out the door.
so we just ignore the fact that he's disputing said bill along with kieren tierney who doesn't even drink.

but it was in the sun so it must be true :brickwall:

Wonder if the club they where meant to be in had an age policy.
Like not letting in under 18s?

pumpkin got some game time and now thinks he's Superman.
Drink drivers are as bad as paedos, get rid.
While i don't agree I won't join in the kicking sheikher is getting because there's a point in there.

There should be a big social stigma attached to drink driving that clearly doesn't exist right now.
I'm guessing that there's maybe three or four times the amount of cars on the road that there were say forty years ago, the changing legal limits and job endangerment have somewhat reflected that change but the stigma is still playing catch up in many countries. Parts of the US would really shock a lot of people in the UK, it's beyond stupid and folk don't even hide it when leaving Pubs, they'll talk openly about driving home as they sink their umpteenth shot.

to put a guy (hypothetically speaking) who goes out for dinner with his wife and has one glass of wine then drives home, in the same bracket as a sex offender is ridiculous.

I don't agree with the original point myself, not at all, not unless it's Fred and Rose West going out for the meal.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila left Callum McGregor out for the match against East Kilbride on Sunday as he was "not ready" to play after being reportedly arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.

The 22-year-old midfielder was stopped in the early hours of Friday morning in the Robroyston area of Glasgow, the Daily Record said, with a report sent to the procurator fiscal for alleged road traffic offences.

Following Celtic's 2-0 William Hill Scottish Cup fifth-round victory over the Lowland League club at Airdrie's Excelsior stadium, Deila confirmed the situation had resulted in McGregor's absence from his team.

"There has been a lot of pressure on him in the last days and he was not ready for playing the game today," said the Norwegian.

Asked for the club's stance on the alleged offence, Deila said: "I can say that we don't like this, this is something we have to react to.

"But at the same time, this is not in our hands, it is now with the police."
Didn't realise he hadn't even been charged yet :ffs:
He will either have passed the roadside breath test and allowed to continue on his way or failed the roadside breath test and taken to the polis station. Fails it there on the big machine and he's charged and released when fit on (most probably) an undertaking to appear at court on a later date. It's not really a grey area. I read reports he'd been taken to London Road, so the likely assumption is he failed the roadside. Still a stupid thing to do and after his other speeding offences I reckon a hefty fine/ban is heading in his direction.

I hope I am not being included in 'defending drink driving'. What he did is irrelevant to my argument, it's the witch-hunt before anybody is convicted that disturbs me.

in some cases they don't need to even be charged.

being accused of something is apparently enough to be considered guilty by some.

Edit to say I'm not sure of the process. I thought you only got charged after the Procurator Fiscal decided to. So it says 'report sent to PF' - so he hasn't been charged yet?

It's pretty obvious if you read back what I have been arguing about...

In case you can't figure it out, I said he'd be strung up if he was a celtic player, I'm making a point that just because someone has been charged doesn't mean they are guilty and if bloody pisses me off when people act like folk are guilty just cos they've been charged.

What the eff are you on about? Is putting a link up to a guy that was acquitted of something and saying he'd be strung up if he was a celtic player not a simple enough argument for you? It doesn't matter if I don't know how or when the guy can be charged, he hasn't been found guilty ok? Simple enough for you? What pish did I spout exactly?

It is a simple argument, it's also a lot of pish. Is that simple enough for you to understand?
