I used the lions example to point out that players of pretty much every era would have had a pint and drove. I really wonder if all these saints on here have never had a beer and then drove home. I personally would never have more than 2 pints if I was out for the night and drive. And I have never been charged with drunk driving.

I would be really surprised if the clowns jumping up and down about this have never had 1 or 2 beers before the drive back from a night out with the wife. Or is it one rule for the players and another for you.

You are very quick to jump on the bandwagon on something like this, it's a bit pathetic. If it turns out he was steaming it's a different story. But for now I would wait until the facts come out before wanting the guy lynched.

I don't have a driving license, never had one either, but do continue I enjoy a good fantasy story.

He was over the limit so he is a floof end of story. No doubt a good lawyer might get him off. I really hope mate no one close too you gets killed or injured by a drink driver because the fall out is horrendous. And completely un-necessary. Will it be morality police then or will you be wanting blood? My guess is blood :ffs:
As I said, you don't know the background. When you do then feel free to moralise. Until then, innocent until PROVEN guilty, if that's still a thing on here.
I do know the background he has been done for being over the limit. If the papers are making this up it is easy too fix. Sue them. Has that been done? Stop acting like a fud and condemn him for the idiot he is.

Never mind the drink driving malarkey, for we now cannot do it as the law has been tightened to such an extent, and the ability of plod and the technical advances, and the grassers and it now joins the rank of taboo activities along with smoking, soon to be joined by the use of shiny toilet paper None of that is relevant. What is relevant is the '24 hour athlete'. If the rest of the squad are behaving in a similar manner its no wonder we keep getting beat. 24 hour athletes my airchie

He's been charged. He hasn't been convicted. Once he has been convicted then folk can feel free to say what they like. I have a great aversion to guilty until proven innocent. If the facts come out and he's been an arsehole then I understand your anger.

If he is over the limit he is guilty. What the eff is difficult to understand about that? If he gets away with it, it's been on a technicality. He is still a fud for getting behind a wheel when over the limit and that won't change.

I don't really understand why this thread is being allowed, to be honest. If we can't talk about the fraud case then we can't talk about this one. Contempt is contempt. The case is live and we are treading on thin ice - in my opinion. Perhaps someone can inform me differently? I know we won't be prejudicing a jury so perhaps that is the difference. Correct me if I am wrong.

Unbelievable that there's idiots on here that justify drink driving or are happy to drive when clearly over the limit whether its just or a bit. Even more unbelievable they think the "pc brigade" shouldn''t get their knickers in a twist and that they think everyone with a licence does it :ffs:

You're right, everyone knows you're right.

The problem is you're being righteous about it. Bad combination (IMO).

It's really unusual for a footballer to commit a driving offence.
The London Rd Police used to hang about watching for CFC players driving from Celtic Park - Hooper was pulled up close to ground for "Illegal Windows ".

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/celtic-star-kris-commons-exposes-877209

A few others have been caught speeding along London Rd , Lennon was charged with using phone but got off!

http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/13120583.Neil_Lennon_cleared_of_using_mobile_phone_while_driving/

Being out at 3a.m. with a drink, driving is just inviting trouble - heīll learn the hard way itīs totally unacceptable !
Neither of your links relate to incidents near Celtic park or involving the police from London Rd hanging about watching for Celtic players

Which would tend to suggest test either you're talking pish or the London Rd police are really useless ;)

Total overreaction on here with the political correct brigade .

If he was a bad hair over the limit then he would have be fine if stopped in England. I suspect that many of the people wanting him hung out to dry for this are either too young to drive, or so holier than thou that they would fit in with the Christian Right.

I wonder how many of the Lisbon lions would have failed under the current drink driving limits. Many guys have had 1 beer and drove home.
If you are over the limit in England then it's an automatic ban...twelve months minimum..have no idea where you get the idea that if you're just over the limit you will only get a fine

It is the same as up here...if you're over the limit then it's a ban.....difference is Scotland now has a lower limit (22 breath as opposed to 35....50 blood as opposed to 80) you could be perfectly "legal" down South but be getting banned up here

There was some discussion that there could be different penalties up here for those caught in between the new limit and the old....but the government decided that the limit was the limit and if you're over its a ban

The only sensible advice up here is do not drive at all if you have had a drink ..... very few folk will be under the current limit with "just two pints".... quite a few will be over with just the one

Most probably get done driving to work the morning after a skinful, it takes more than a few hours sleep to get it out your system.

Regarding his place in the team, the drink driving allegations are irrelevant IMO and if guilty he'll get the requisite punishment. All that should be relevant is ability level and it's been clear for ages that he's not good enough.

Some players can become synonymous with a manager's regime. When looking back at RD's, I fear that McGregor will be one of those players.

So he's a bit of scumbag as well. What is it with us these days drunk driving, biting, xenophobic chanting, child abandoning. May as well bring Lennon back.
