I get that but Allan would be a better option. Even Forest who I am no big fan of would be better.

I stated my reasons a few pages back for anyone that wants to check. I stick by every single one of them.
How does anyone even know if Allan would be a better option? He's barely played and when he has he's done 2 things of note: a through ball to Griff at Ajax which he effed up, and giving the ball away in the same game.

I'm nowhere near McGregor's biggest fan, but he's far more proven so far than Scott Allan.
McGregor has proven himself to be bang average at best. Allan has yet to prove himself to be that but given our recent history of signings he'll be average to.

So Jamie Smith, Ross Wallace and Ross McCormack would all walk into this Celtic team? Really?
Yes. Easily.
I respectfully disagree.

Scott arfield

At 19 McGregor scored 14 goals in league 1 for notts county. He has a decent record in Europe for us. If he keeps working on his game he can easily be as good as McCormack arfield and MacArthur. They had done very little at the same age.

I don't understand why people are so keen to write him off.

McGregor is a decent talent, worthy of a squad place and, as has been shown recently, can come in and hold the jersey until injuries/suspensions ease.

I don't know what people expect at times. We need back-up players and not all of them are the next generation of superstars. McGregor has done fine overall.
Agreed.

At the same age McCormack was a hun reject with a 1 in 5 scoring record for Motherwell.

I'm happy to give the boy time to develop and improve.

You do know things don't work like that don't you? It's like saying McGregor has scored more European goals at this age than Paul McStay therefore has potential to be better.

Don't think he's ever gonna nail down a first choice in the starting XI if there's a full squad; I think he'll be one of those squad players that sometimes hits a purple patch of form for 3-4 months and forces his way in, but essentially becomes just a number and a shirt filler. There's nothing wrong with that, every squad needs them.
