I've no idea if he can become a long term player for us but he'll do in the short term. Tidy enough wee player who can score a few goals. If he can continue to work hard and improve then he might have a chance. It's also encouraging to see a young guy go out and make the most of a loan deal. Might help inspire a few of our other youngsters.

Good luck to him, but I wasn't overly impressed with him last night. Would love to see him make it with us, but the fact he didn't get a game for Notts County the second half of last season is slightly concerning.

I thought like most of the team, goal apart, he had an average night. He certainly was not comfortable wide left in the first half. Good luck to the lad, but I don't think he's good enough for us.
Looked very slow - was caught on his heels a few times.

Seems to be quite comfortable on the ball though.

Runs like James Forrest.
Aye, I noticed that too.

Is that something they teach players in the youth setup?

He looks a neat player. I think he's probably better suited to cutting in from the left than trying to go round the outside on the left - he 's not got that explosive burst of pace that wingers need, but his close control and passing look good.

That would also free up Griffiths to play up front, where I think he's a better option than Stokes.

 I also noticed this....it was doing my nut in for some reason. It actually ends up making it easier for opposition players to get near him because his arms are close to his torso and don't provide much of a shield. Be amazed if this technique was being coached (though I suspect the question was in jest).

Thought that he was poor last night. Delighted that he got the goal, but to be honest thought that he was lucky to still be on the park. When the double sub came on I thought he was a shoe in to be replaced.

TBH I dont think he was anything other than OK. Seemed a bit lost in the first half
Would like to see him over another 2-3 games
Jury is out for me.

Some of the attitudes on here show starkly how difficult it is for our own youth to make it.

Our 'support' crucify any kind of budding talent before it gets a chance to flourish.

Woe betide any lad who has a run of poor games as he develops. Scoring on your debut in an away match in the champions league still gets you grief from the armchair geeks..............geez peace and let the lad have a chance.

You have to start somewhere, I just hope to see more of the younger players getting more game time, I think we will win the league easily but Aberdeen and possibly DU might just make it slightly more difficult.

In my opinion he will look like a better player when he learns how his team mates play and starts to get used to them. Thought there was one or two times he was expecting a pass and didn't get it because he just doesn't know how commons plays etc. It was funny when he and Derk collided just before Puuki missed. It was funny seeing him jump over Commons' shot. Not sure about whether or not this guy is actually a natual scorer or not, his Notts co goals where all a bit too easy/lucky much in the same way he was lucky to score last night.

Quite a few of his goals were excellent, granted the league he was in isn't great, but there is more to him than just luck.

He often received a pass, quickly offloaded it then wandered off not making himself available for a return pass. I thought he was trying to emulate Derk. He often gestured for a pass when he was not in position for a pass. However it's very early days for him, so good luck to him.

And he scored the winner. Lucky, aye, so what, lucky is good.

The Maestro

Was a typical debut. Tried to keep it simple and grew in confidence as the match went on.

Think he has now earned the right to be a first team squad player this season. It's now up to him.

Wasn't the best but scoring om your debut is always a huge positive! Not many players were at their sharpest so the boy deserves some slack, not just fir winning us the tie.

Did very well for the goal.

Good to see him get a game. Not a great performance but certainly better than some.
Also good to the the manager not just making the easy substitution that usually happens, he left the young guy on and took off the experienced players.

He needs games, as do a few of the young players.
