I thought Bannan did okay last night but Macarthur and Phillips were both rotten.

The tactics were just to smash it up to Martin and Phillips, then Snodgrass and Fletcher later on. Mcgregor and McGinn could have helped play some actual football as Scotland were awful in the 2nd half.
Bannan was decent on Thursday but absolutely hopeless last night. For a player who Strachan has built up as being one of our best technically, his weight and choice of pass in the last third leaves a lot to be desired.

Thought he intercepted and knicked the ball off of them in the second half when were under pressure. True that he didn't offer much going forward but he was playing wide. If McGregor was playing/coming on it should have been in the middle for Macarthur who's passing and retention of the ball was awful.

Didn't really see the point in bringing McGregor on last night. We pretty much bypassed the midfield and focussed our efforts on the wide areas and getting the ball quickly to the front two.
Playing Matt Phillips with that that strategy - or, indeed, at all - was baffling. I'm not James' biggest fan, but he's miles better than Matt Phillips. Being left on the bench last night and taken off ahead of Phillips in the game on Thursday tells me all I need to know about Strachan's management. Clueless.

EDIT: Back on topic, I thought McGregor would have made a big difference, especially in the second half. The game opened up between midfield and attack and he always links up well with Griff

Thought he had a good game tonight and kept the ball moving on and helped out defensively. Took his goal well.

I remember he missed a similar chance against that german team but scored a similar one tonight. Came on leaps and bounds under Rodgers. Wonderful player and proved many doubters, including me, wrong.

Well in!

Not necessarily in the way he plays but he reminds me of the role Park played at United. Very competent footballer who can be trusted all over the pitch in big games

That will soon change I think. A new manager will be out his box not to have him in his team.

No he hasn’t. When he was played out wide under Deila he was poor. He’s excellent now though.

Aye, that player played out of position is better now he is played in his correct position.

Logic.
