Still not in the Scotland squad.
John McGinn though :ffs:
McGinn, Bannan, & Morrison have no place in that team, the latter 2 have been guff for a while whenever they're called up.

Darren Fletcher rarely gets on the pitch these days when he's called up either.
Darren Fletcher's performance at the weekend was horrendous

Zero pace and players just strolling past him, miles off it

I appreciate strachan trying to be loyal but the reality is he offers nothing to the Scotland squad

I used to have a lot of time for Strachan but his handling and behaviour of this has been pathetic. McGregor is one of the best Scottish midfielders we have. Much better than some of the effing trash that has been called us :ffs:

I qualify the above by saying I am not Callums biggest fan but he has been very dependable lately and should be in that squad :nono:

I had a right moan at Strachan the last time he didn't call McGregor up but this time I wasn't expecting him too, 2 games at the end of a campaign where qualification is the aim is not the time to be calling up uncapped players.

McGregor will rightly get his chance after this campaign.

Gordon , your stubbornness will sack you.

And rightly so.

Away and don't talk pish. McGregor isn't some rookie, he has played at Champions League level FFS higher level than anything Barry Bannan and Co. will ever play at and thats including all the previous qualifiers they've looked utter pish in.

McGregor would absolutely be in my squad, he should have been called up when Armstrong was back in March and started every game since but he hasn't. It's now crunch time for Scotland and I can sort of understand why he's going for the tried and tested.

eff Strachan and eff Scotland. The least of our players not on international duty the better.

Purely selfish view of course.

Aye but if it's late in the game and we need someone to unlock a defence with a pass, or hit one from distance, who do you want on the park? McGregor or Darren Fletcher?

McGregor

I'm not saying Strachans right, I'm just trying to see where he's coming from.

Scotlands tried and tested have consistently delivered failure.

He's called up Liam Cooper who has zero caps above under 19 level. McGregor has more European and international experience so he's more tried and tested than Cooper.

It's hardly a like for like comparison as we're much better off for central midfielders than centre backs. That said, McGregor should be in this squad and Strachan's the type of personality who'll now deliberately overlook him just to try and prove a point.

And failed

Sticking by has-beens like Fletcher and never beens like Bannan is the reason he'll be fired soon enough

Agreed. With 2 games left Scotland have a genuine shot at this, not calling up the best players we possibly can and constantly going with folk who are nothing more than squad fillers is a ridiculous call by Strachan.

If we lose to Slovakia it's finished, and you wonder what might've been had he changed it last October, instead of waiting until it was too late

I wasn't a fan of McGregor at all but I am now. He's better than at least 6-7 of the midfield players Strachan has selected.

£9million in Gonga money, easy.

Hope he stays for years though, I think he’ll be a huge player for us.

Exactly

Only an idiot or someone with an agenda would leave him out of this squad, especially when you see who he has called up.

I don't think he has anything against Calum as such, but this is about him stamping his authority over who picks the team. He's being pigheaded now and a bit pathetic

WGS is an arrogant wee ar$ehole.

It's a real shame that McGregor is not featuring in international football just because the boss wants to show that it's his baw and he's gaun hame.

A top player at Celtic, the domestic champions, and with CL experience but cannae get in ahead of Philips or Ritchie? Laughable.

Aye, Strachan is just at it now.

I defended it the last time round, but ignoring McGregor now is just petty at best.
