He completely tore Rangers to bits when he came on yesterday. His willingness to show for a pass and recycle possession with lots of 1-2's around the box is brilliant, especially if we are already in the lead where it really stretches teams. He's a very different player to Rogic who is more likely to ghost past players and pull off audacious pieces of skill, but McGregor's desire to find space and run into channels can be just as valuable. Im delighted that we have these kind of options within the squad!

I'd say he is irreplaceable in our squad.

Not in terms of him being a must-start, not in terms of him being the most talented player we have.

I just don't think we have, or would likely find, another player who has the potential to feature so importantly across a number of different positions in different systems and drop in and out of the side without ever grumbling. He never sits on the bench with his face tripping him or trudges off the field when he's being subbed. He doesn't mope when he's asked to drop back from a no.10 role to left wing back or out to right wing.

He's up against Rogic, Armstrong, Ntcham, Bitton, Roberts, Forrest, Hayes, and Tierney in the various different roles he plays for us and still manages to make a decent number of appearances. He's a great example to the Academy lads

This guy has went from my dartboard to my screen saver in about 6 months.

He has improved so much. Credit where it's due.

Totally mate, I posted somewhere in here too saying he was a really intelligent player and could be good given the time.

Its brilliant to watch a player develop at our club.

There are still people out there that just can't admit he has and is improving though :comp:

He's stuck two fingers up to the doubters and fair play to him. He brought some bite and urgency when he came on and it was just we needed. He can only get better.

His introduction on Saturday showed his best set of skills: he found space which previously had been restricted by the zombies playing Jack and Dorrans in very deep roles; he linked play between the centre and wide players better (particularly with Forrest); his willingness to be in all of the space meant that any 2nd ball within a 20 yard radius was immediately picked up by him and quickly moved into more dangerous areas; he dragged the midfield away from the areas which they were supposed to be watching and exposed the defence.

Most of that stuff didn't have anything to do with the undoubted technical ability he has or how he's actually pretty good running at people (not in a skill/trick way but in gaining useful area and breaking lines). He's such a big player in games against teams who sit back and, for me, is 2nd only to Roberts in chances which break them down.

Finds space and lays it off like Naka.
No greater compliment.

He is exactly the type of player Rodgers loves. Can come into a game at any point and is immediately at the pace of the game. A brilliant professional.

He's probably not quite as skilled individually as Armstrong, and definitely not as outrageously skilled as Rogic, but I honestly think the team as a whole plays better with him in it. It's a tough call because on form you wouldn't want to leave either of the other two out - nor Ntcham for that matter - so finding a place for him in the side isn't easy.

Yeah. I think I'd rather see him start against Anderlecht for that reason.

I think his greatest attribute is his concentration & the fact he's always "on it".
Probably why he makes a good sub.
Fergie used to talk about Soltshier (spelling) the wee Norwegian attacker, who could also play any position & would come on & make a huge impact on games, having a real intelligence, who would study the game from the bench - when other players Sat picking their nose.

Love Callum & have done for ages.

Before I seen the Norwegian striker part I was thinking that must be one of those mad German words that doesn't have an English translation

McGinn, Bannan, & Morrison have no place in that team, the latter 2 have been guff for a while whenever they're called up.

Darren Fletcher rarely gets on the pitch these days when he's called up either.
