With McGregor being a left footed player with a eye for goal, and the ability to take me on, he might be a replacement for Patrick Roberts. He would be better defensively than Paddy.

Hayes seems to be more of a winger and would be better on the left side.

McGregor is not a replacement for any winger, yet alone a top class winger. The previous manager is long gone, Callum is progressing just fine in the middle.

As for Hayes, the bench suits him perfectly.

Roberts isn't played as a traditional winger most of the time he cuts inside. Hayes isn't as comfortable going inside.

McGregor's been much more effective playing centrally than when he's played on the wing.

The Iniesta comparisons are not far off although Calmac is better in front of goal.

He's better suited to playing centrally finding wee pockets of space to drift into, doesn't have the game to be a wide player.

Great composure for the goal. Was quiet today. Absolutely deserves a Scotland call up.

Strachan is a moron so you never know...

McGregor has turned into a very important part of this side. Works his baws off, good with the ball and chips in with goals. A really useful squad player.

Anonymous up until the 88th minute. Nice finish.

He's not a winger.

As Brendan said he has an incredible knack of keeping the ball. 20 out of 21 passes completed when he came on against Astana on Wednesday.

Always willing to take the ball.

Improving all the time. Smashing wee player.
