Never seen the game today (Sunderland) but thought that he should have started against Rosenberg

The reason he didn't start against Rosenberg is because he was woeful against Linfield. Armstrong came on for him and scored therefore took his place in the team. I'm still not convinced he'll start on Wednesday either, although he's certainly put forward a good case for himself.

I'd go with McGregor in starting line up. If you look back at him starting v the huns in the cup game, gets his goal and then in the very next league game against them gets his second consecutive goal. My point is his confidence will be sky high at the moment and therefor is worth the gamble.

Confidence go a long way for any player, and with his 3 goals at Sunderland, I bet he is raring to go for Wednesday.

I went back to the beginning of this thread to read comments from 3 years ago. Quite a difference nowadays on the whole. A very under-rated player.

Yeah...but one mediocre performance and he'll be useless and back at the top of everybody's punt list. KDS is fickle like that.

Agreed. Was saying similar towards the end of last season. He's the guy that makes things tick over in our midfield but you don't know how important he is until he's missing, Rosenborg being the case in point.

I'd play him from the start on Wednesday. The second goal he scored yesterday is the kind of thing we'll need to do to score against Rosenborg: quick passing and someone making an incisive run.

There's no doubt there's a balance between Brown, Armstrong and McGregor that we desperately need.

I hadn't seen any of the pre season friendlies prior to the Rosenborg game. So, it was my first time seeing Ntcham. I thought he was too similar to Brown in style. Obviously the balance of the team was completely wrong, not having a centre forward, but I think Ntcham just did not fit well at all. McGregor has European experience and he has scored in these qualifiers before. He looks like he's on form and if he is fit and training well then he must start ahead ntcham. I'll be amazed ....and a bit worried ....f Rodgers doesn't go with that.

If we need to play a midfielder up front then I'd rather it was him. His movement and finishing are more than decent and I'd say he's better suited to that role than someone like Rogic.
