He's deserves one.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
The BBC have obviously ballsed this up then. There is no mention of Mulgrew in this, although I wouldn't rule out them making the error.

Jeezo, and Oliver Burke dropped as well. Probably the most exciting player we have, playing in one of the top four leagues - nah not good enough.

It's the Jack Harper, Ryan Gauld, Jordan Rhodes thing… It's like they don't want the team to succeed. "Oh, we've got someone in form and who could actually be a prospect? Let's not give him game time, let's play some 35-year-old fud who has never done anything before."
They weren't wrong about any of them, though.

That's pretty amazing.

No matter what McGinn might be in future, in the here and now McGregor is operating at a much higher level. Shinnie is also to be honest.

Not that this is a Scotland thread but, as for the rest, Mark Reynolds? Is Mulgrew injured again?
Mulgrew is in the squad. Reynolds being picked is more of an indictment of the dearth of talent that we have in the centre of defence.
Lindsay is probably a better shout than Reynolds.

What happened to Gauld? Apparently leaving Sporting in summer?

McGregor is infinitely better than Bannan and McLean. McGinn has potential but he's not as good either on current form. McGregor has been excellent for a while.

McLean isn't even as good as Shinnie!

Strachan clearly doesn't know what he's doing. The man is a moron.

Strachan not picking McGregor , just because he can. If 'stubborn' took personal form it would be Strachan shaped

Will still probably be 6 Celtic players in the Scotland starting line-up.

Ridiculous that McGregor isn't picked though. As for folk not featuring for their clubs, it didn't stop him picking Alan Hutton.

Strachans ego getting in the way of what's best for the country. On current form any Scottish player in the Celtic line up should be starting for Scotland.

Strachan is a footballing dinosaur. No wonder the state of our game is a mess with this muppet in charge. Wonder what the real reason behind not picking him? Not a good team mate? FUD.

I'd honestly go with another foreign manager or at least someone who has never managed in England.

I am sick to death of the "he plays in England so he must be better" drones we have had manage our national team over the past 10 years

He shouldn't work in football again after that pish yesterday.

Re Mcgregor, I couldn't really care less but his omission is a huge part of the national team's problem under successive managers. Squads and teams are not picked based on current form but on a ridiculous nothion of loyalty and familiarity.

I have always liked Strachan, despite some horrendous football while managing us.

McGregor was called up a couple of years ago and didn't get any game time, which is pretty unusual for a first call up....not sure if there has been a falling out there or if he was giving WGS grief behind closed doors after the last time but the indisputable fact is that McGregor is one of the form players in the country and has been overlooked for McLean and McGinn which is a bizarre decision. Look at his goal at Hampden v diedco.....I doubt any other Scottish player (except possibly Griff) would have been able to finish the move with such composure and skill.

Scotland do not need Moyes. We need someone positive who can inspire and will pick the team according to form and nothing else.
