He reminds me of the role that Darren Ferguson played in Fergie's Man Utd side. Not in style, but in his overall, unselfish and often understated contribution.

He is always moving, always looking for the ball, always looking to cover his team mate as he moves forward, moves the ball on quickly and intelligently.

He's a very good player and Rodgers knows it better than all of us.
He played brilliantly but his selfishness cost us a goal in the 2nd minute when he didn't square it to Griffiths. His goal was sublime and some of his close control was outstanding
If the positions had been reversed, what do you think Leigh would have done?
Spanked it in the top corner

I thought he repeatedly overstayed his welcome on the ball in the first half. Definitely tidier in the second.
I thought that too, said to my daughter at half time that if he is able to play others in and release the ball at the right time he will be become a great player rather than just a good player.
That's a very good point. He will undoubtedly become a better player under Rodgers, and he won't be the only one.
He like many others is becoming a much, much better player under Rodgers and Davies - That only happens if the player listens, works hard and applies himself which McGregor is obviously doing and he and us are benefitting - Calum didn't have those two recent Zombie games in his locker last season he does now - Massive well done to him. :worthy:

I felt at the time that McGregor didn't pass it to Griffiths as he wasn't positioned where Dembele would have been. There wasn't anything wrong with Griffiths position but he wasn't where McGregor was expecting and it threw him a bit.

Played well again yesterday. I hope he can add a little nasty streak to his game, as he should have fouled Miller and took the booking in the lead up to the goal.

Hard crowd, biggest win ever in that midden, nit picking. He's in the team on merit, it's pretty simple.
100% serious. Some of us are capable of giving credit when it is due and also criticism when it is due. He deserved both yesterday.
Agree with Bobo, nit picking, in fact your post is just guff...none of that team yesterday deserve any criticism....players would need to be near perfect to keep some fans happy

By the way... In my earlier post I meant to compare him to Darren Fletcher, not Darren Ferguson!

Scotland call up next.
Think he's already been capped by Scotland.

Sure he played a friendly against someone a couple of years ago.

Can't remember who though?

Game could have been at Easter Rd or Pittodrie.

 the fact no one mentioned that made me think I was lacking in my football knowledge as I had no idea who Darren Ferguson was.

Absolutely got to be starting for Scotland. Ahead of all these fake scotsmen playing 38 meaningless games a season for the likes of West Brom

Brown, Armstrong and McGregor should be Scotland's midfield 3. Throw in Craig Gordon, KT and Leigh Griffiths and things would improve for the National team.

No doubt about it

Gordon, Tierney, Armstrong, Brown, McGregor, Forrest and Griffiths should all be first names on the team sheet

I remember Ronny talking about how the negativity from the crowd was affecting Calum's performance.

Probably correct looking at how confident he is now and how well he is playing.

Another player like Boyata , Armstrong and Forrest who I wouldn't have bothered about if they had been released that have transformed under Brendan.
