I thought he repeatedly overstayed his welcome on the ball in the first half. Definitely tidier in the second.
I thought that too, said to my daughter at half time that if he is able to play others in and release the ball at the right time he will be become a great player rather than just a good player.
That's a very good point. He will undoubtedly become a better player under Rodgers, and he won't be the only one.

No more of this "decent squad option" stuff. Guy's an absolute baller.
Spot on.

His close control and the ability to just pop off first time passes is superb and helps the flow of the way we want to play.

He can take the ball under pressure and doesn't panic and find a team mate.

He's effing excellent.

Overall he continued his recent good form. I thought he did brilliantly for his goal - if lubo scored that we would be talking about it still. However I think he was very poor at miller's goal - failed to get close enough to make a challenge when he was running and then just let him go at the edge of the box. This is an area he will need to work on if he wants to keep a first team place.

No that's fair enough. He was lazy at their goal.

Hard crowd, biggest win ever in that midden, nit picking. He's in the team on merit, it's pretty simple.

Doing great - fantastic run in the team - can see him with us for a very long time -potential to be a solid contributor to a great team

BR rates him too - that must do wonders for his confidence

Pre season; work on his right foot and then we could have some player on our hands.

Overall a very good showing and yet another lovely placed finish for his goal. His decision making early on was poor and probably cost us a goal or two but he never let it effect him. Grew into the game and had a decent second half.

He reminds me of the role that Darren Ferguson played in Fergie's Man Utd side. Not in style, but in his overall, unselfish and often understated contribution.

He is always moving, always looking for the ball, always looking to cover his team mate as he moves forward, moves the ball on quickly and intelligently.

He's a very good player and Rodgers knows it better than all of us.

He played brilliantly but his selfishness cost us a goal in the 2nd minute when he didn't square it to Griffiths. His goal was sublime and some of his close control was outstanding

If the positions had been reversed, what do you think Leigh would have done?

100% serious. Some of us are capable of giving credit when it is due and also criticism when it is due. He deserved both yesterday.

I was doing my dinger at him in the 1st minute for not squaring it.

Made up for it.
