Been interested in the comments in this thread about Callum McGregor, and one on this page from Bagheera certainly resonates "He has improved but I think he's always been a neat and tidy player. I think he suffered a bit from being promoted too early by Deila and by being associated by his time in charge. His drastic improvement isn't really the case, he has improved a bit but he's always been competent."

I decided to take a detailed look at his performance data. I think we have a highly intelligent young footballer who has found a way to carve a role for himself despite perhaps not being the best player in any position. But he seems to learn so there is always hope.

Excellent work. Not to notpick but the first table says he has never been injured (or at least hadn't missed any games through injury in last 4 years).

He broke his ankle at the end of RD's first season (some time in April) and this meant he missed pre-season and the start of RD's second season.

It was a sign of how far he'd fallen out of picture at celtic that it got so little press coverage.
Yes thank you, I rely on Transfermarkt.com to validate and check appearance information and that information on his injury was missing - thanks again it is helpful when people spot errors - I try and be as accurate as I can!

Another great performance. Well played Calum. I was wrong about him, well deserving of his place.

Massive improvement under Rodgers and rightfully a starter.

He used to be a player that one week I would think was quality then the next week I would think is rotten. He's been consistently quality for a while now.

The progress he has made under Rodgers is incredible. Clever footballer who was always too slow to play wide effectively

Along with Sinclair he was a little wasteful but he's played very well every time he's played them.

Rogic is lucky that a few midfielders will be getting rested over next few weeks to give him a chance to get some game time and get his sharpness up otherwise he could have been looking in from the outside for a while

I thought he repeatedly overstayed his welcome on the ball in the first half. Definitely tidier in the second.

Happy to admit I was wrong about this guy, outstanding again today, I think there is a lot more to come from him as well. Take a bow, Callum.

Yep. Was a bit greedy on the ball in the first half, we could've been out of sight if he'd just played a through ball a number of times. But was better in the second hald.

Got better as the game got on, could have done better early on to square for Griffiths early on and again on a counter in the first half.

I'm new. Be gentle.
Have to eat a massive slice of humble pie. Always been a big critic of his, never more so than after the miss against moenchengladbach but his performances have slowly won me over. A very tidy and effective player for us now and he definitely enjoyed that goal

No more of this "decent squad option" stuff. Guy's an absolute baller.

I thought that too, said to my daughter at half time that if he is able to play others in and release the ball at the right time he will be become a great player rather than just a good player.
