No doubt a pre-recorded interview, with Ian Jamieson approving the questions in advance

It's pull the wool over your eyes horseshampoo. He can stick his explanation, any Celtic fan buying it wants their head examined.

I couldn't care if Lawwell bled celtic for every penny we have if he done his job. We are a medium sized buisness, who are supposed to entertain its customers by being successful on the field. Obviously part of this includes running the financial side of the buisness well to A) Make it more profitable and B) Live within its means. As of right now, we are less profitable than last year, we have now lost money on CL packages on top of CL money. We need a cash injection to bring back higher profits, but instead Lawwell has chosen to gamble away £15,000,000 by not investing perhaps a 3rd of that.

It is either time to get rid of him or for him to plan for substantial investment to reinvigorate Celtic.

Like I said, it's apathy they're really afraid of at the corporate level and a crowd of 55k last night against some European nobodies does not communicate apathy to this board.
Hasn't there been some degree of apathy for a few seasons now, dare I say it since the huns' liquidation?

For instance I went with a mate to the St Mirren game last season, main stand, executive lounge with all the trimmings. He got two tickets for his birthday. (Highlight of the day was meeting Berti Auld - now THERE is a Celtic man).

Anyway, many spare seats around us both in the lounge and the stand.
I would agree with what you are saying but it hasn't hit the core 30-40k that are at the home games. The first ones to give up going to games are always going to do that anyway. That's a given. Go on a halfway decent Euro run and they'll be lining up around the ticket office in a heartbeat.

When apathy hits your customer group en masse it takes EVERYTHING to turn that around. How come, because they have lost trust in you and that can only be built over time not immediately.

And no doubt the interviewer will be agreed in advance and the questioning will be very gentle.

Dont think I'll even listen to that stage managed show that PL is undoubtably manipulating as we speak. I 've heard enough lies from him already, but if I had to I 'd ask one question after reading out the charge list. When are you resigning? ooh make that 2 questions.....has your salary and bonuses been downsized in line with the business strategy and if not,why not? This board has run its course..time for fresh thinking.....and I'll say it again....too many west dublin brits have too much influence at our club. (coolmore mafia)

Almost certainly.

Probably thrown in unbroken history as well.

Unless he starts with the phrase I herby tender my resignation, then I'm not interested in what he has to say.

Why even bother listening to Lawwell's interview? Can we just post up the bullet points from it here, just now?

* Financial security of the club is paramount
* Won't take unnecessary risks with the club's finances
* "The reality of the situation"
* Scottish market remains 'prohibitive' to generating money
* Continue a policy of developing young players to sell for profit

Same patronising bullshyte him and the board have been trying to feed us for years. The jig is up - no-one is buying it any more.

Lack of competition in Scotland too.

Apart from the sides that have gubbed us in the cups.

Just read someone in the Wakaso thread criticising fans with the "faithful through and through" defence. We are Celtic supporters, we support the club, the team and it is only right that when the custodians of the club are not acting in it's best interests they should be told in no uncertain terms that they have a responsibility to the supporters.

They completely failed last night, to a man. The whole club needs an overhaul. We are left with a few of options.

1. Let Deila have the remainder of the season with the current squad to see if he can forge a team to take into the qualifiers next year. (The season over scenario)
2. Give Deila money to invest in players he wants to bring to the club to play the type of football he wants to play. (The Back him scenario)
3. Punt Deila and Lawell then see option 1 or 2 with a new experienced manager in place. (The I have a dream scenario)

For the record I think Deila is well out of his depth and won't last to Christmas. The real problem however lies with the reports that Lawell runs the club top to bottom. A £70m turnover company should not be seeing £1m of that go on the CEO salary.

All the comparisons between Deila and Lennon are a mere sideshow. The real question is why are we taking the club backwards by going with a manager who has no real pedigree or Euro competition experience again? Managers can learn form experience, why have the custodians of the club failed to do so? It is time for Lawell to be held to account for his stewardship and management, if he is acting as DoF then he needs to be removed with vigour.
In truth, the way the club is now treating the fans reminds me of the Kelly's and the Whites but with added financial acumen. And we will take it because we are faithful through and through.

He might even throw in something about the need to play 3 Champions League qualification rounds. While simultaneously failing to mention that we've had well over 6 months advance notice that that would be the case and time to prepare for them, maybe investing in the team perhaps, and the fact that we should be beating side of that quality regardless if we've any aspirations of being a Champions League participant.
