Every decision in isolation can be justified. It's the overall strategy resulting in far, far poorer teams on the park that shows the strategy is failing.

And on Lawwell - If there is another story from the club about "coming close on a transfer but it didn't work out" "pushing the button" "complicated deal" or some other pish by way of an excuse I could only say: Do effing better. Get the deals done. You are getting £1M a year, you have no effing excuse to say these things are difficult.

This board should be ashamed
We have downsized too much over these past 3 years .
Surely even they know that the product on the pitch is shampoo
I hate to see the way our great club is being slowly destroyed
Surely even they can see we needed some players to get into the champions league group stages after the legia debacle

Looks like another gamble going into the play off game with basically the same squad, if anything poorer that what we were for the Legia debacle, it's clear the only way Ronny will have any funds to spend will depend on qualification into the CL.

Question, is this fiscal financial house keeping or complete negligence from the board? I'm going with the latter, the support are fed up with the utter garbage that has been spouted over the last few years while the squad has been decimated, "improving the quality year on year", "we can afford a 6m player" sound bytes, the usual guff regarding the managers we were in for pre season, the ludicrous pre season tours, especially that Spurs game. :ffs: there are a whole host of other issues that we all know about.

Fact of the matter is a large percentage of the support have had enough, no return on their financial / emotional investment, a piss poor first team squad, being managed by a guy who looks completely out of his depth, but seemingly stubborn enough not to change his philosophy on the game, don't get me wrong this has been coming for years.

If we fail to beat Maribor then our CEO / DOF is in for a hell of a rough time #betterbeleiveit

The board aren't fit for purpose. They've completely forgotten about the fact that it's a football team they're in charge of. Fortunately it looks like more and more people are getting a bit more savvy with them, rather than celebrating our balance sheets with them. PL is an absolute cock of a man who is taking everyone for a ride and has spent the last 4 years trying to convince everyone that spending money is some big, terrible thing.

I've never even watched Maribor, but I've seen enough of us this season to be fairly certain they'll turn us over. When they do, PL should be the one answering the questions.

I'd go as far as saying that anyone still supporting this current regime is a massive part of the current problem. Lawwell and co should be getting hounded and I'm pleased to see the tide is turning but there are still people that are a) scared of seeing Celtic spend any money because of what happened to the huns and b) people that genuinely think we are being run in the correct manner.

The type of people that will say they only have the club's best interests at heart whilst happily accepting an absolute shambles on the park. Wake up ffs.

Dont know about you guys but im hella glad I dont have a season ticket these days. Our transfer policy is nothing short of brainless, we have shifted the spine of our team over the last 18 months without replacing them adequately... Forster, K Wilson, Wanyama, Hooper. all gone to be replaced by... Gordon, Van Dijk(looked good at times last season but downed tools from what ive seen this season) Biton, Griffiths/Pukki

Drastic drop in quality and now we've been landed with 2 loans and a free agent who has warmed sportscene couch for last 2 years. I am actually feeling glad i work weekends for once, so disheartened its unreal. And qualify for the chapions league? Other than money(which isnt being invested anyway) what is the point of going in with this group of players? We'll be nothing but whipping bhoys.

Absolutely - the strategy fails because he exercises too much power, fails to put trust in those hes appointed to do the job he ends up doing himself.

He is awarded too much money. The strategy of protecting the club is harming the club - rewarding bonuses during onfield decline.

The strategy implemented for the here and now needs re-examining. The future vision of the club needs more discussion too, between the support and the board. So supporters representation is required.

Both the defacto owner and the majority of the support only have eyes for england. The inertia this breeds and the pitfalls to this have not, to my mind, been properly, publicly talked through.

It smacks of an ego that is still coasting high following wanyama,ki and hooper's turning low investments into mega millions and thinks he has the Midas touch.

Moving forward with this squad is actually an insult to the supporters.

They cannot, cannot in any way really believe this is squad is good enough!

You'd think the board or Lawell don't want us in the CL.

All the joy from the hilarious reprieval has evaporated. We've been guaranteed at least £5 million from some form of European football, on top of the cash hoarded from the last two years, and we still shop around football's jumble sales. Gross mismanagement. Forget the football side of things, the lack of investment from a business point of view is completely bewildering as a chance to earn tens of millions is being squandered over comparative buttons.

Nobody expects us to shop in Harrods; the occasional foray into the 'Tesco's finest' range would probably match the ambition of the support, however we have went from purchasing goods in Aldi to now asking Barnardos for a receipt, just in case like.
We're queuing at the food bank with a wallet stuffed with money. Pushing old grannies out the way too.
Going to funerals of people we don't know for steak pies.

I'd rather go down the route of loans with option to buy than wasting cash on the likes of bangura, balde and boerrigter.

That's fine, but I'd rather try to improve the team with signings as opposed to nurturing players for other teams

Or, call me crazy, but we could perhaps spend more than £2m on a player, perhaps on a player who already has some sort of proven pedigree (and doesn't have knees made of chocolate or hamstrings made of paper).

Said after the Legia game I'm not spending anything else following Celtic till either a) Lawwell is gone or b) Their is genuine investment in the team. The week since that game has saw us get an absolutely massive break and still the investment is an absolute joke. He's taking the piss. Again.

When you have an option to buy you're hardly doing that are you, if the player progresses you enact your option, if not you return him. Regardless of the quality of player, the Berget and Tonev signings are relatively smart work given how we've gotten burned in this end of the market before. Hell last year we'd have shelled out £2.2 million for Tonev had he not opted for Aston Villa, this time we've got the ability to see how he settles before shelling out. Berget was another player who was well heralded before failing to settle at Cardiff.

As part of an organised rebuilt of the squad, I wouldn't have an issue with the loan signings at all, but given they look to be the two centre pieces of our business then it's deeply disappointing and worrying.

Lawwell is rightly getting a roasting, I dont expect him to be going anywhere though. How clear the dialogue between board and supporter is I have no idea - they seem utterly removed and nonplussed.

Supporters with money, big money, could see how pliable the Kaiser is. Hes the reason we're floating; I think he's playing a long, long game for english football, but given he's stated in the past that its an emotional investment, he's not too worried about the price of his shares in the meantime.

So its trying to shift DD or its ST money being withheld by 'ordinary' supporters.

Might not shock them, but they do read certain forums :ph43r:
