Absolute disgrace that we are spending the square root of eff all.For years and years my old man has slated the board and told me the fans where being taken for mugs. How right was he :ffs:

Theres no effing reason why we cant spend the FF money. A complete rethink is needed.

Tony Watt who had been nursing a thigh strain hence no pre season games ,was reassured by the manager he was a big part of his plans.

Young Watt received a call from his agent a couple of days later and informed Celtic had accepted a bid for him.

This is life as celtic manager under Lawwell , selling one of our most promising strikers while we have probably our worst strike force for years.

If had been the manager i would have walked and let him grub about looking for some other mug .

At a time of fantastic turnover we have our weakest team for years . you couldnt make it up.
When you are looking to sell something never say it's pish and/or lazy.

However, we are in decline and no doubt Ronnie is getting done like a kipper.
The manager tried to buy him last season dont forget, so he must have wanted him to stay.

cant think of any manager of repute accepting being undermined in this manner.

Lawwells had it far too easy at Celtic in recent years but i sense a dramatic change in celtic fans attitude towards him.

They probably won't as all pretence seems to have gone out of the window.

Yeah I wouldn't expect a peep

There's previous n'aw, we're really only seeing exactly the same disappearing act right now in the aftermath of the Legia farce as the one we got after the St Mirren cuffing. Which at least tells me they're capable of feeling some shame.

Not much though, I'd hazard

I think we are at the point now where people are genuinely at the end of their tether.
I'm actually a pretty positive guy in all things Celtic yet I can see this season far enough. I renewed my season ticket on blind faith despite only making about 10 games last year (including Europe).
eff knows why, Celtic has an emotional pull.

But something can only be pulled so long before it snaps and that is where we are now, consistently selling our best players and replacing them with haddies, has beens, never will be's and neds.
Neil Lennon. Neil effing Lennon who refused to walk out on Celtic despite death threats, bullets, beatings and 14 years of hatred directed his way, walked, we don't know the exact reasons why but I'm sure most of us can hazard an educated guess.

In the meantime we are handed some unkown Norwegian who prattles on about sytems, strategies and philosophies whilst all the while looking like he hasn't the first clue how to set up a football team.

There is something rotten at Celtic now, and it starts at Lawwells door.

He's going to get a verbal hammering in Perth on Wednesday, and he's going to deserve it.

We've seen the boards' level of ambition.

The threads are littered with disdain, dissatisfaction, anger etc and many have stated they will not renew (this off the back of plenty I know who have NOT renewed)

So with the various methods available to attempt to change the direction the board have taken, what is the best course of action from fans?

Moaning on the internet isn't going to change anything no matter how cathartic we find it.

Becoming disparate, red card waving arseholes like the huns would amount to nothing but embarrassment for all concerned.

Flag day has been mooted but with Fergus return this would really be poor timing and could be misconstrued.

Others say the next home game or Euro match, so with these options all appearing to be under consideration, what would be the preferred course of action.

My thread was pulled. Fair do's.

However, we are in decline and no doubt Ronnie is getting done like a kipper.
I think Ronny is the Mark McGhee option. We had to go outside the country to do it and dress it up as some sort of managerial masterstroke, but given what's transpired this window, it's shaping up to be a disastrous sequence of decisions by those in charge of looking after the club.

Put it this way, Ronny will need to be an truly amazing manager to turn around this group of player, not least after he said they simply weren't good enough. Look where it got Hibs going into a play off.

I'd obviously like him to succeed, but if he does, it will be in spite of the 'support' that he's had from the board, not because of it.

If we go out against Maribor, then I don't think the manager will be the only one not going back to Parkhead.

Crowds would have tumbled after Legia. If Maribor knock us out after we failed to invest, then the crowds will drop off a cliff.

Agree totally. Having seen the 4 ties so far, i am pretty confident that Ronny won't turn out to be 'amazing' though. Some of his tactical decisions might amaze us, but i fear the best we can hope from him is 'competent', unfortunately.

Also - even if we go through against Maribor, this squad will get some utter tankings from decent group-stage opposition. The team has no spine, and our manager is running around getting wingers on loan.

Couldn't agree more.

Sad thing is, there are some people on here who are making excuses for him, and tolerating his nonsense, saying he needs time. As someone else said - he is like a guy with a corner shop, getting the keys to a tesco hypermarket. He has absolutely no idea what it takes to manage Celtic. He has cost us our spot in the Champions League (ie - 16 million quid), and now we have a freak second chance, he is somehow still in charge.

I wish my boss was this understanding.
