Utterly nonsensical decision to book those friendlies before you even get to the Celtic issue. What if the new manager eventually comes in and doesn't particularly want to try out his first matches on the other side of the Earth? Or what if he would rather play weak teams at home to test out formations and set-ups first?

Be aware...Keith Jackson report.

Celtic furious with Stewart Regan for putting Champions League hopes on the line
Brendan Rodgers and Peter Lawwell are said to have been stunned by SFA chief’s money-making jaunt.
Spoiler: click to toggle
Perhaps Keith Jackson might want to add this to reasons why Regan must go.

https://www.sfm.scot/is-regan-a-diddy/comment-page-1/#comment-166542

How can any club, never mind Celtic, ask supporters to renew STs to watch a game subject to the type governance Regan is responsible for?

This really is a must read for those with an interest in Res12 and related issues.

It's a long read though. JJ's blog (I know) has edited it down to the most salient points https://johnjamessite.com/

Peter Lawell having his say on SFA

Speaking to BBC Sportsound, Lawwell said: “I came off the board a couple of years ago there so from the outside looking in, clearly there are problems.

“The problems appear to be significant. It seems that Stewart Regan has taken the rap for that in terms of the changes over the last couple of weeks.

“I think there are others in there who have presided over the SFA for a number of years who need to have a look at themselves now as well.

“I don’t think it’s worth any value in personalising but clearly there are issues which need to be addressed.

Another article about it on the BBC website.

Pleased to see PL laying down a few markers.

I hope PL has given the doughnuts in the SFA a little food for thought.
I do however feel that he has just given them a reason to dig their collective heels in.
They will resent PL'S interference. They are and always will be self seeking parasites who detest any criticism.
They will also be looking at each other and thinking "Maybe that PL is thinking about him not me".

But if it does create the way for change then thank all the so called Gods as change is much needed.

I think it's right Celtic have a say in public about what they think can help move us forward.
We're the best thing in the game up here & most professional, surely if the SFA were even half as capable, they'd like to hear some advice...

With regard to this BBC article and PL’s interview with Tom English one of the things that bothered Res12 guys was Celtic’s reluctance to approach UEFA as the Res requested and instead deal with the issue domestically.

One possible answer has emerged from the documentation Celtic released last September which contains a letter of 25 May 2012, a letter Res12 guys don’t recall seeing although it tells us Celtic were active in trying to protect the integrity of the game.

Please note.

It’s not a defense of Celtic. It is an observation based on realising who was involved and if your core belief is its all part of a pretendy put up job then dont go to the link for it will change nothing.

On the other hand if you are prepared to be a bit more informed and put aside suspicions (that the Res12 guys themselves had because of reluctance to approach UEFA) then have a look at

Thanks Auldyin. Can't pretend to understand all the intricacies, but this adds a bit of context.

The post further down the page also clarifies the comments PL made in the BBC article about the difference between the public and private sectors.
