Has anyone considered the possibility that it's actually embarrassing to have someone like DD associated with us? Especially given our founding premises?
whit?

are you serious?
Not to ignore the compelling points in your fine rebuttal but any reason it wouldn't be a serious question

Many on here were lapping Daly up when he was looking into EBTs and Craig Whyte. Yet he has the cheek to look at Desmond and it's simply a conspiracy aimed at Celtic. It's a major story Nationwide with certain famous people, Desmond included.

There's no agenda here
its not a major story in Scotland that an Irish citizen has avoided being taxed in Switzerland.

and there is an agenda

especially from an organisation that regularly employs UK tax dodgers and doesn't ever ask them about UK tax dodging.
It is a major story when that Irishman is the majority shareholder and powerbroker at the biggest football club in Scotland though.
It'd be a bigger story if he had done anything illegal.

He hasn't though. The BBC admitted as much.

For the BBC to lead with DD here as opposed to say ...... Oh I dunno...... The Queen ? , shows there was a clear agenda in their reporting. the Queen, The effing Queen is doing exactly the same thing but the beeb ignore that in favour of DD.
Come on.

He has done nothing illegal. Whether he has done anything morally questionable is up for debate, and I'm not just talking about this case.

TBH the Queen will be 2 days news with this.
she didn't even survive a full morning. By half eight yesterday morning, they were dragging some old bint out the House of Entitled Arseholes to tell us how she'd know nothing about it and it would be her advisers who were at fault. Guess they didn't "advise" her.
And yet a day or so beforehand we had the Daily Mail or some such gushing about how involved she is in the management of her affairs.

Nationally, the BBC did lead with the queen.
The regional BBC will always look for the local angle. If there was someone Scottish more prominently playing these tax games than Desmond, then sure - BBC Scotland should have led with that.

I'd actually like to point out here that the letter itself asking if the journalist was 'a Rangers fan' directly implicates our club in all of this. That was Desmond's doing.

Nationally they had the Queen on the front of their website which was then dropped in favour of the three actors from Mrs Brown's Boys. Hardly a word on the Queen in the main 6 or 10pm news.

This isn't a zero-sum game of Dermot or the Queen ffs. They should pursue both stories along with any other acts of tax evasion [or avoidance, or off-shore accounts]. You cannot have it both ways.

DD is more prominent than The Queen ?

British Broadcasting Corporation ignores British head of state and sets sights on Irish billionaire who happens to be Celtic' biggest shareholder.

No agenda there.

DD is small fry compared to The Queen. You know that. If the BBC are choosing someone to lead with the choice should be blindingly obvious.

It's pathetic from the BBC.

Dermot is small fry compared to the Queen, yes. But he is hardly a victim of anti-Irish bias. Please think before you start appropriating that kind of language to defend a billionaire.

The Queen should be the main story in the network and regional news. The old bint has estates in Scotland and the Tories want us to pay for her renovations to her house and a new fecking ship and we have the convenient squirrel of an Irish billionaire evading Swiss or Irish tax.
