I wouldn't totally rule out a shareholder sueing the SFA for fraud/loss of income either.

"the Compliance Officer in post is the chap who failed to deal appropriately with information supplied from 2014"

So the person who has been asked to carry out the investigation is already compromised because he was already in possession of information that should itself have led him to carry out the investigation that he is now being asked to undertake

By definition you cannot carry out an independent investigation into yourself. The SFA clearly understand this but are determined to behave as if they don't understand this.

I hope a week on Sunday that Gordon, Tierney, Brown, Armstrong, Forrest & Griffiths are pulled out of the Scotland squad due to paper cut on their fingers.
I want Celtic players to continue to represent my country.

I can see where you are coming from, but if it turns "Tartan Army supporters" against our players. (Not to say they akready are) but our players and the club coukd do without a sideshow when the main attraction is a review into rangers mis representing their players/EBTs .
I don't want Celtic players playing for anyone else.

I doubt there's a single Celtic player who agrees with you.

I hope it ends up on the judicial review route, Res 12 is a bit too specific and I want to see everything come out in the wash.

The least that can happen is everything will come out in the wash. We might not get to the stage of JR or officially string them up but there will come a point when if all else fails, the juicy bits will be published.

Thanks for the update, Auldyin.

Is there anything the rest of us can be doing to keep this in the public eye while you're working away in the background, or would that be counter-productive?

Correct. For our Scottish players, these two upcoming international games, with a place at the World Cup finals at stake, will be the biggest matches of their international careers; the type of games which made Brown do a U-turn over international retirement. Depriving them the opportunity to play in them would be a punishment for them first and foremost. I'm pretty sure the likes of Stuart Armstrong and Craig Gordon couldn't care less about oldco's tax affairs or whether their players were properly registered. The idea they could lose their international careers over it is bonkers.

By definition you cannot carry out an independent investigation into yourself. The SFA clearly understand this but are determined to behave as if they don't understand this.

Celtic are well aware of what took place from 2014 after Res12 was adjourned in order to seek clarification from the SFA.

Whether intentional or not the SFA contributed to the 5 year time bar UEFA used as another justification (along with TRFC being a new club/company - meaning not the same of course - ) for UEFA not investigating events after the grant of the licence.

However the admission that the liability existed before 31st March by McIntyre at the CW trial has made it impossible for SFA not to open a case and there is no statute of limitations if corruption involved.

The Comp Off, if involved, should only be establishing if there is a case to answer on the whole process in 2011 then hand it over to an independent panel which should either be chaired by a UEFA person who knows FFP or include such on a panel, but to safeguard his integrity the Comp Off should not involve himself at all.

In terms of information provided by SFA to Celtic from 2011 and how that compares with the results of an investigation, Celtic will be making a judgement on that if the investigation does not cover that aspect.

Thanks. There is a lot more detail to come out next week in terms of what Res12 lawyer raised with SFA on which folk can make up their own minds.

 Thanks for this, appreciate the update. Really clear that the Compliance Officer should be telling his employer that he cannot take part in this investigation. He risks undermining his professional reputation if he does anything else.
