Absolutely no excuses for not loosening the purse strings. Rodgers has delivered CL football now deliver him 3 or 4 better players.

This is now the time to build momentum. Build a good team and nervy nights like tonight won't happen.
Now is the time for the board to lead.

Unforgivable if they let us down again.
Definitely. All to often we enter the January window viewing it as a chance to start building early for the Summer qualifiers. We should start building for next year now. Invest in making our spine rock solid so that we get through the qualifiers with zero drama.

Here's the breakdown of the money. How much do you reckon we will actually make and how much will BR need and how much will he get?

Breakdown of Celtic’s £30m Champions League windfall

Celtic have landed a potential £30million-plus jackpot after booking their place in the Champions League group stages.
Here we look at the breakdown of the cash that could be heading into the Parkhead coffers.
PRIZE MONEY Celtic will bank a straight-up fee of £10.2 million for being involved in the group stages. They have also secured a £1.7 million bonus for winning their play-off against Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
PERFORMANCE BONUS Brendan Rodgers’ men will earn £1.27 million for every win they manage during the six-game round-robin phase, with UEFA paying out £425,000 per draw. There is a further £4.7 million on offer if Celtic can reach the last 16.
TV MONEY The UK clubs receive around £85 million as a result of the broadcast deal with BT Sport and ITV. Under an agreement with UEFA, Scotland’s sole representative in the competition will get a 10 per-cent share, so that’s another £8.5 million, which is several times what they receive for domestic broadcast agreements.
TICKET SALES The last time the Hoops qualified in 2013, they banked £6.4 million after selling out Parkhead for clashes with AC Milan, Barcelona and Ajax.

Does anything think the board will wait and see who we're drawn against before pursuing any signing targets?
( i know the draw is tomorrow afternoon but i was thinking more of who they will approach)

If we got the proverbial group of death they may be reluctant to purse certain signings they feel won't increase our chances whereas a favourable group, they might look at it and think well
3rd place (or even 2nd  ) are realistic and justify spending to try and get us through

I'm not saying go and spend a fortune on one player for 6 games but if we can get someone in who will improve the quality of the squad, not just this season but qualifying next year too (hopefully) then i'd like to the think the board will reward BR for getting us there with what he feels he needs

Curious what debt we have this year if any? Would be nice if as much money as possible went to buying quality players rather than paying debt off.

If (and I hasten to add, that even I can't imagine this as part of the mindset) this was in any way close to the truth, then Splob and the puppetmeister, need hung, drawn, and quartered!

Get the cobwebs swept out of the vaults, and sign the manager a coupla 'first-pick' players

I'm pretty certain that not only will Brendan be chapping at the CEO's door saying " here's who I want", I'm fairly certain we will get him/ them. Changed days .

We'll end up with only a deadline day loan signing who won't be a first team regular and will slip quietly off back to his club in January. Record profits will be announced next year and SPLOB will get his bonus.

Been saying this for years.

Forward plan, invest to qualify for group stages, then bank cash.

Investment now for next year as well, too late buying in players next summer.

As of the latest interim accounts we had just £7m total long term debt & loans with over £14m cash in the bank.

The second half of the season is always tighter with less income, bonus payments and in this a case a fair amount of working capital was probably used in bringing in Rodgers and his new signings but nevertheless we're in a very strong position financially with effectively no debt to service.

That's before last night's windfall.

Not sure how accurate this is for Celtic's income this season (someone posted on FB) but I'm happy reading it:

Champs lge: £25 mill
Dafabet: £6 mill
New Balance: £6 mill
ST sales: £20 mill
Magners: £1.5 mill
ICC Cup: £7mill

Make a statement signing now

A joke about Sevco's finances, or a cheeky wee gazump of one their main targets, will do myself and Pete nicely going into the group stages.

The £25m CL doesn't include the £7m in CL ticket sales expected (£6.4m 3 years ago ) or the income from the qualifiers of approx £4m.

Merchandise would be expected to be around £15m on top of this.

Not sure where the New Balance £6m you state fits in?

ST Sales looks a bit overstated would be more like £17m, who ever did it may be including VAT.

I have heard the £7-8m for Champions Cup but never seen confirmation.

My rough calculations come out at close to £90m turnover. This is using the Champions Cup numbers.

If we qualify top 2 we would be nudging £100m
