I await Pravda Paul Brennan's next puff piece with interest in which he will tell us that we are wrong to expect investment in the team, that Commons has to be in first 11 and admin 2 will happen any day now........
Don't forget the saved wages by not signing players for the qualifiers. CQN has gone downhill over the years, a bit like myself.
Agree. He (Brennan) comes across as a bit of a nodding dog these days and don't even get me started on the comments section...

Quoting limited to 3 levels deepFrom the Times:

Chris Davies, the Celtic assistant manager, said;

"We have been pretty consistent in the areas we want to strengthen since day one here, and on targets we want."
Peters in huff. Good. now get him tae eff.
Surely BR is smart enough to say to DD - I asked for this and got nothing

They'll know if lawwell' ego is getting in the way - surely

While he's still new in the job is his best chance, if he rolls over the same shampoo will continue.

Agreed - if there is an issue now is the time to say something

You are all assuming that PL is deliberately sabotaging any negotiations.

Could it be he is just not very good at it?

Always a possibility. Either way deems him not fit for the task
of running our club.

While none of know exactly what was said to Rogers in terms of backing during his meeting with DD it is clear little of that expectation has filtered down to Lawwell.

Once again this overpaid carrot is making a pigs ear of our pre-season by failing to secure targets. I refuse to believe that Rogers has not handed in his list of priority targets, the danger of not adding some quality to this current squad is there for all to see. Sadly Pedro is blind to anything other than his own over-inflated bonus which will no doubt be getting rubber stamped by his boardroom chums once again this year.

Lawwell continues to be the issue at the very heart of our club - we will never move forward with his cautious, parsimonious approach, yet year, after year, after year the clownshoe is allowed to get away with it.

I was cautious with the appointment of Rogers, on the face of it we appeared to have woken up but once again the feelgood factor is being eroded by Lawwell's dithering. He simply sucks the soul out of the place.

The squad needs improving regardless of any European campaign, we need to wake up FFS.

Once again we are being taken for a ride.

Lawwell showing Dermot who the real boss is...that will teach him to appoint his own choice of manager and not let Pedro decide, another couple of Imps type results and he'll be gone, leaving the way clear for Pedro to tell Dermot 'I told you so' and get big Yogi in on £5k a week, and a budget of £3m
 Lawwell knows who the boss is. Bring in Yogi and they'd be lucky to sell enough STs to finance a budget of 3m. ;)

They're probably throwing away £25m +
Season ticket sales are up, BR merchandise will probably sell well, Sevco are in the league and we've managed a net reduction in the size and costs of the playing squad. The £25m would be nice of course, but we don't need it so why bother?
This is what I think. I almost renewed my Celtic TV when the new manager was signed. I thought we might be showing a bit of ambition.
I haven't seen antything since to suggest anything's changed.
To be honest, I can't say I've missed Celtic TV, over the summer, and I'm not sure that the addition of the SFA's Project Rangers makes Scottish Football any more attractive, or if it just emphasises what a bent charade it is.
An ambitious Celtic would be a reason to watch, so I think I'll wait till we have that.

If the signings have been identified from day one, I'd say that's a notice to the fans that if we eff up in the CL qualifiers for the third year in a row, the new management team will have gone into the tie, once again, with one hand tied behind their backs.

I also wouldn't be surprised if failure to back the manager and then an inglorious exit at this stage, saw our new management team saying that enough's enough right at the start of their tenure.

You either work for a club where it appears everyone is pulling in the same direction, or you work under Peter Lawwell.

We simply have too many players & need to sell before buying.
Still PL's fault though.
Don't know why we've supposedly knocked back offers for Johansen & Bitton though - madness.
Or why we're trying to fish in the BPL waters (other than frees).

Of course it's Splob's fault.

Sat and oversaw a vanity project which has lumbered the new manager with a bloated, ineffectual, and lop-sided playing squad.

Now, if rumours are to be believed, scrambling around trying to sign up a free-agent as a wild-card signing, on the cusp of our (hopefully) 2nd biggest tie of the season :cuckoo:

Let's hope (if the rumours turn out to be true) that he felt the wrath of his paymeisters tongue, to whip his lard-ass into action :nono:

Wrong. But, even if you were correct, surely it's Lawwell's responsibility to move players on?

He - in cahoots with Park - acquires sh it players against managers' wishes, then fails to move them on when they're found out
He sells good players against managers' wishes
He betrays the trust of managers and supporters

The modest achievements managers and teams have made during his tenure have been in spite of him. For this he is rewarded £1m each year. It's effing criminal.

The ones he overloaded on - money ball style?
Yes, those ones & it's his fault.
