Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
They're probably throwing away £25m +
Season ticket sales are up, BR merchandise will probably sell well, Sevco are in the league and we've managed a net reduction in the size and costs of the playing squad. The £25m would be nice of course, but we don't need it so why bother?
To save us playing stupid friendlies next year in between crucial Champions League qualifiers?

I await Pravda Paul Brennan's next puff piece with interest in which he will tell us that we are wrong to expect investment in the team, that Commons has to be in first 11 and admin 2 will happen any day now........

I get that the Euros were on this year, which probably made things a lot slower. Sure players don't sign on until the 1st of July but building normally starts a lot earlier for clubs when major championships are not being played.

That said, our board never learn. Each year we think they might actually have picked up on previous failings and speculate to accumulate just a little bit, especially with that mob being in the league this season but as usual they leave it far too late.

Don't forget the saved wages by not signing players for the qualifiers. CQN has gone downhill over the years, a bit like myself.

We are a shambles. To go into this tie without signing the players that we already knew we needed, is nothing but negligence. The manager even identified the players he wanted well in advance.

The fact that we have all this money from the additional STs, should surely make the players easier to sign. But yet again the board are being short sighted and dicking about.

Many will be feeling they're being led up the garden path. Again. effing shameful.

While not shifting blame from the board / Lawwell for bad planning and execution, I genuinely don't want EPL players on 30k+ a week coming into the squad. If these are the only targets identified by Rodgers we have a serious problem. He should have been told early on (well at interview) that we can't buy from England. There's no point enquiring over these players when they would blow apart the wage structure without delivering anything better than we have (potentially). Sure if we could get a genuine star at his peak, I'd like to see us go for it. Journeymen centre backs at the fag end of their career are NOT worth taking that risk for IMO.

It would be mad to rule out leagues & a country that size (EPL & champ). We just picked up dembele from there which shows it can be done.Of course we need to look on our doorstep but it shouldn't be the only place we look.

EPL players are never in our ball park, we have spent 500k on a decent young player and shifted zip off the wage bill, I'm not one for getting fecking frustrated, but I'm getting close.

Yeah, don't rule it out, there's the odd bargain to be had. Dembele may prove to be one. Just don't let it be your only place that you're looking.

Chris Davies, the Celtic assistant manager, said;

"We have been pretty consistent in the areas we want to strengthen since day one here, and on targets we want."

The management have been consistent in their targets, but you have to give credit to the board as they have been consistent in not getting said targets.

I did think folk were a bit too keen when BR in putting their money up, given Lawwell was still there.

The Astana tie is a very tricky one, to be fought by the same squad that went down away to Lincoln Imps. Lawwell is once again hanging a new manager out to dry.

And while we're struggling to bring players in the club are promoting the upcoming Leicester game with a tweet showing all the players we've sold to the Premiership in the last few years - Boruc, Forster, Ledley, Wanyama, Van Dijk. Ki. :ffs:

Edit - I realise we sold Artur to Fiorentina.

Lawwell showing Dermot who the real boss is...that will teach him to appoint his own choice of manager and not let Pedro decide, another couple of Imps type results and he'll be gone, leaving the way clear for Pedro to tell Dermot 'I told you so' and get big Yogi in on £5k a week, and a budget of £3m

I'll give credit when we don't get turned over by a part time team from Gibraltar

Surely BR is smart enough to say to DD - I asked for this and got nothing

They'll know if lawwell' ego is getting in the way - surely
