Who guards the guards?

A thoughtful article from E Tims.

http://etims.net/?p=9359

In a way Res12 is pioneering making SFA acountable, building the capacity to do so as it rolls along.

But it's a slow shoogly train and when it has reached its station something more efficient that will remove the distrust in football governance is need.
There is an argument that EUFA are there to hold the SFA accountable.

I wonder how they would respond to the idea of a national ombudsman for football in Scotland. :ponder:

That puts the onus on UEFA to act as such, but they appear reluctant to get involved in domestic issues and would always be the final arbiter in any case if an issue impinged on UEFA rules territory.

The SFA/SPFL wouldn't like it which must be a good thing.

The Club's all sit on these Boards though & Lawwell in particular is well placed on many many committees/boards.
Surely, our own Club has been kept well informed on everything that is going on?

Are we guards? Or guarding the guards?
Who guards the guards, that are guarding the guards?

The rest can all eff off - board, players et al. disgusted in that performance. even if e win the second leg 7-0 the players have sown repeatedly they are not up to being Celtic players, the board have not only sanctioned this they have encouraged and encouraged it.

All this thread has really mentioned for months now is resolution 12. Frankly it's of no interest to me & a total waste of time & energy. There is only 1 real issue & that is the pathetic state of our football team today & for several years now. This is their only priority & what they should be held be held accountable for. They are an absolute disgrace.

No it's not. The board should be competent enough to ensure that the football operation is working while protecting the club's interests off the field.

Perhaps the charge right now should be that they have been doing neither very well.

Amazed at how throughout the past 3/4 years the board have escaped a revolt over the situation on the field.

And even tonight we're all arguing over players lack of signings and all the rest of it and these effers are getting off lightly again. The clubs going nowhere under Lawwell he should be chased.

Mate your talking soup. The boards fundamental purpose is to ensure they entertain and have a winning product on the pitch whilst having a healthy profit and balance. They have done the later whilst neglecting the playing side. Empty stands, lack of season books last 2/3 years, lack of investment in playing side, endorsing pistol petes 'project ronny' have stagnated us when we should have been light years in front of sevco after the Rangers died. We should have won 12/13 trophies domestically last 4/5 years due to our size and massive budgets but they chose to go cheap and hope for the best...

Resolution 12 is important but we have much much more to worry about here and now. UEFA noises seem to be forget it Celtic .. Right or wrong. Our board have served up the pishwe are watching just now and need to back BR to get out of this both financially and get rid of the imposters they sanctioned over the3/4 years now who play for us. We have much more urgent pressing current issues as tonight again highlighted to us.

Lawwell and the PLC Board are certainly witnessing Celtic making global, and I mean global headlines tonight. The words humiliation and embarrassment feature strongly.

Blame for example everything wrong with the club lies with them. Workers come and go yet the bosses remain and the wheel keeps turning.

I just hope my fears of them seeing Rodgers as the Blue Chip signing we need and him having some Midas Touch is wide of the mark.

They have oversaw a decline in playing standards that I don't think has been seen at our club before.

Have we been conned into thinking a revolution was on the way, when it's going to be business as usual other than paying top dollar for the manager?

We really need some quality for the next round or we could be in bother.

Its that bad a sheep-shagging mate sent me an email tonight, from his post-op hospital bed. It was titled "Thank You". mainly because we had erased the shame he felt over them being beaten in Luxembourg.

This is up there with any of the "hun journey" embarrassments.

There was a lot made of DD and his reaction to the hun directors at the last game with them, we're about to see in the next week if it was all pr baloney and if it's going to be more of the same.

If BR isn't backed properly now, PL will rightly limp in the same footsteps of Kaiser Soze.

I am a huge critic of the board BUT the players we have - for all their faults - should have had the where with all to deal with last night.

The fact that Biton didn't try and the manager chose to pick Ambrose is not the directors fault.

Agree that we badly need signings but the manager had an absolute shocker last night I'm afraid.

Administrator in name only. Don't read PMs. Please PM a proper mod with any problems. Ta

Last night is the reason Deila should have been punted after Malmo. Or after the Sevco semi.

Cowardly shampooebagging out of that decision gave us yesterday's result.
