I wonder if they have set themselves a target for new season book holders, and the additional revenue that comes with it?

As it is, there's considerable additional money coming in through Dafabet/Magners this season, as well better contracts for the Premiership (TV) and League Cup (TV and sponsor). In total the additional revenue through these sources is probably worth about £2m more a season to the club. Not much, but not to be sniffed at. BR's wages, at least.

If we've been struggling to shift 40,000 season tickets, including a fair chunk of knockdown child/student/OAP tickets, they must surely have sights on 50,000.

Feedback like we've seen since Friday would suggest they could be on for that again. Then again that would only be an additional £3m or so (at an average of ~£300 a ST), and I suppose you need to add in the sale of roughly 15,000 Orc tickets for two league matches at £40 a pop that weren't there in previous seasons, so about £600,000.

Before any CL qualification, they could be sat on additional income of near £6m per annum before the season has even kicked off. Some of it needed of course to fund a substantial rise in salary for the new manager.

To justify Rodgers appointment, they had budgeted on selling 44,000 books. After the massive positive reaction to the appointment, they are hoping that may go to 46-47,000 ish. I think that's realistic, and that we may draw in another 5-10,000 day trippers depending on the opposition.

Yup that's very realistic.

The bit about his job being to ensure the Lisbon Lions Upper wasn't redundant: It felt like a conspicuous comment both in his press conference and when he was speaking to the supporters. I could agree it could maybe be a throw away comment if he referred to it once, but he did it twice. Like it had come up during his discussions for the job, and maybe also in any advance briefing for yesterday's press. I'm not sure why you would mention it otherwise.

47,000 would not be too shabby at all if they've been sat around 40,000.

47k if the extra 7k are all in the full price bracket would be superb. It would pay Rodgers' wages and kill the DD is paying a percentage myth.

If they tell Zebra to patch the credit checks they'll hit near 50.

That would be great if we achieved that.

Totally doable.

Zebra will go bust though

I know I'm thinking of taking one up again after 6 seasons or so (WGS 3rd season done me in). History has shown that I don't bother going often without a ST, so nearly decision time. The removal of the feeling you're just being taken for a ride is the biggest factor for me.

Me too, but I've yet to be convinced that we're not just being taken for a ride.
Mark time while Sevco work their way up to the SPL, then when they turn up, pull a rabbit out the hat and then quietly get back to Old Firm business as usual, with Res 12 and the SFA cheating swept under the carpet as agreed.

46000 sold so far according to this tweet. No idea of credibility of the source, but sounds promising

Just under 7000 people currently on a waiting list for a season ticket at Celtic Park. Remarkable stuff 👍🏻

If that is true we could easily break the 50000 barrier. Good times ahead and the thunder truly returning

I have nothing but the highest admiration for the people behind #res12 and the ordinary fans who have chipped in to support them financially.

If nothing else it will show the SFA/SPFL that the days of their nefarious activities going unchallenged are over.
