I heard today that one of the Desmond's were building a big mansion somewhere just outside Glasgow.

Can't remember where, but the lassie was sure it was one of the family, and not Lawwell, or any other board member. Anyone heard anything?

I've asked for more info :arrr:
Cambuslang? :suspect:
The big monstrosity on East Kilbride Road that looks like a five year old tried to draw The White House? Is that not William Haughey?
That's Haughey's - Was going to be the biggest house in Scotland until the planning permission went breests up.

Thought it was half-a-mill wage with another half bonus?

Anyway, irespective of any of that he's still an odious pwick.

His stewardship of our club borders on the criminal.

The same Man City that already has a Director of Football (Begiristain) who's far more qualified for the job than Lawwell is?

I guess it's nothing more than an overpaid useless managerial fop going on a tour of the shop floor and getting himself lost

Green Brigade :worthy:

Delighted to see Desmond get a public 'bashing' from them, as well as Lawwell.

So, Lawwell was in the dressing room just to 'talk to' Ronnie? :hmmm:

Ronnie talks more b*llsh*t then me - and that takes some doing :ponder:

Chick Young saw Peter Lawwell go straight into the dressing room at the end of the match and he called Deila out for it during the post-match interview. Deila mumbled something like "Peter has seen the Celtic dressing room a thousand times. It's normal." Pretty much a non-story.

My guess is that Lawwell was dictating what Deila and the players could and couldn't say about the Green Brigade display.

I've no doubt that everything you say is 100% correct.
Having said that there will be a loophole and the SFA will find it.
They will play in Europe next season.
The SFA have nothing to do with it. If domestic governing bodies could intervene you wouldn't have as many teams banned from Europe as has happened since the implementation of FFP.

Inter Baku, Braga, Targu-Mures, Astra, Botosani and Dnipro have all been banned from Europe recently for breaching the rule on overdue payables.

Dynamo Moscow, Besiktas and Galatasaray were banned for breaking the rules on losses.

As things stand Sevco would currently breach both of the above rules. Literally the only way they'd negotiate the losses rule is if an owner injected enough equity to cover the past 3 years losses. I would welcome that just for the amusement factor of the zombies suddenly turning on Dave King for his inability to pay up.

They have absolutely zero chance of playing in Europe next season.
I don't think this is possible under FFP. Sugar daddies can't just gift money to clubs / cover debts / buy new shares in share issues. There are also rules in place to stop obvious workarounds like overly generous sponsorship deals or stadium naming rights from related companies / individuals.

This also affects us. If we go on a big spending spree (transfers and wages), you need to guarantee CL income for several seasons to cover it. Things are only going to get tougher for us. They are even worse for Sevco.

While I have no time for Lawwell, why would you think that? it is a possibility but just is much chance he was calling the players out for another inept performance.

Maybe even slipping them a couple of quid for their night out?

Not as simple as that either Murph - Other side of the coin is keeping some quality in the team more times than not we would be pocketing £20m + a season minimum in the CL and have won the league each season at a canter.
As I said I have no time for Lawwell and Co but in my view it's simply not true to say that the difference between Celtic 2003 and the Celtic of today is the board's downsizing. The major difference is the rise in wages and transfer fees - Crystal Palace paid the same transfer fee and wage for James McArthur as we paid for Chris Sutton. That's not to say the board haven't been too cautious and wasteful - they have - but the major difference between 2003 and today is market forces.
Got to agree - we cannot attract players that can get 2 and 3 times as much down South.

We do currently massively overspend though for some utter mediocrity.
