They got a 3-year ban for being a new club with no accounts. That 3 year period would have elapsed now

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
What's his title in the House?
 It's not like he had to get the club's permission to call himself Lord Livingston of Parkhead. His family has links to the area, which is probably why he picked it.
His father was a GP in Parkhead ministering to the poor.

You've got to remember what was going on at the time

PL did not want them to start again

He was running the penalty of 15 points for 3 yrs ie make it up as you go along

Now he might have believed that was the best financial option for Celtic but he was way off the mark given what they had been up to for years

That's where I can't square this pl loves Celtic guff with his actions

Very little or no fight on behalf of support v the bill
Prepared to keep them up and no doubt would have succeeded were it not for Dundee Utd raith rovers etc
Taking £10m out of the club and getting his remuneration up from 200k to regularly over £1m when at same time best players wages have been held steady at no more than £1m
And a huge huge squad with no quality strikers
And our last 3 managers being punts - 2 of which have been total failures

And no movement on res 12

Heard a rumour that something was being announced today, and a further rumour as to what that announcement may be. That's all though (the rumour being Lawwell's leaving). I don't believe it though

Keep reading on here that

the manager is responsible for the signings

nope it is John Park

nope it is Lawwell

so whoever actually thought that either Ciftci, Cole or Kazim Richards were anywhere near good enough to be given a contract at the club needs to be gone yesterday

if that is the manager then fair enough he is gone

but if it is one of the other two or both of them they need to leave now.

Thought that myself, was just going to post it.

Andrew Smith: Celtic suffer seven-year glitch

It is a matter of fact that the appointment of Ronny Deila as Celtic manager was flawed. More pertinent now is to ask how flawed might be the strategy pursued by the club that has brought matters to this point.

The direction of travel at Celtic – despite the Barcelona win of 2011 and all that – was questionable long before the Norwegian pitched up from six years managing, effectively, the Motherwell of Norway.

Celtic’s hierarchy are fond of their number crunching and value getting the “financial fundamentals” correct. As is right and proper. Yet, they should perhaps chew on this set of figures.

Re. the Huns/Europe. If UEFA's FFP rules are applied, Sevco's annual losses for the last three years will make them ineligible.

Dunno why Phil or anyone for that matter is remotely worried about the Huns being in Europe. They have a coefficient of about 5 (not a new club but ;) ) meaning they'll get absolutely horsed by a half decent seeded team very early on, and so it shall continue year after year.

I don't even know how they begin to break that cycle. Just another perk of their old club's timely demise I suppose.

Lawwell has to go. Desmond too. Neither appear to have any ambition for the club at all.
Desmond would probably walk away if someone offered the right price for his shares. In other words, he (and young Derry Desmond) will be with us for some time yet.

Good piece by Andrew smith - well balanced and focuses on the right period that being the last 7/8 years

Also a second  good piece by Keith Jackson in record

Seems the journos are finally calling lawwell out so maybe he is off

Further rumours yesterday that Derry Desmond is being put in

I also was of the belief they required audited accounts for Europe, and not the unsigned made up pish they have.
