I actually don't think we're in too bad of a state. Despite their obvious failings we've got a collection of players with individual talent. The current diddy in charge clearly can't get the best out of them, but the next guy might. We've seen most of this squad play better than they are right now. Deila's a bit of a Jonah, if someone inspiring replaces him then who knows.
A good few on here are grossly underestimating the influence a manager has on a team.

There's countless examples of a new manager reaching heights previously thought unimaginable with largely the same core of players.
I would agree. I think there's plenty of ability in this team, it's just in terrible hands. A few additions needed mind you but we've a good group.

We have a squad full of SPL dross and 'projects'. Remember how annoyed we were when Willo Flood signed? We have half a fecking team of Willo Floods now. I'd keep maybe 5 starting players with some of the rest being kept as backup. The squad needs gutted.

The board have many failings and their politics isn't one?

Is that right?

So a club founded to educate and fed children and the unemployed having a Tory peer on its board isn't a failing? Whilst the Tories dismantle the welfare state and cause untold harm to the poor, the sick and the disabled?

I guess I'm just part of the racist campaign our chairman was talking about though.
Grow up, that club disappeared about 1898

The other son
Derry Desmond is the one taking over, Brett is married to one of the Corr's, Ross is involved in bringing the Five Guys Burgers and Fries franchise to Ireland.
"Five Guys Burgers and Fries franchise" really needs to be said with a Northside Dublin accent.

What has annoyed me about the board is that we have tried to push that we are separate from the other side of the city and aren't dependent on them in a financial or football sense.

I was happy with this; I was hoping that during the time absent whatever incarnation polluted the south side of Glasgow that we would invest in quality, bring through and develop young players and build a side that would go from strength to strength.

However the investment in the side and transfer recruitment policy has been all over the place, and there has been no real serious commitment to address positions that have needed it for years going back to Lenny's time here. And it would appear that a new manager coming in will receive that significant investment just to make sure we stay ahead of Sevco, which means the last 3-4 years has been an absolute waste and again just gives them the credence they don't deserve.

On top of that they rewarded fans loyalty by putting the price up because it looked like they might get promotion. Surely amid the unrest of late they won't have the balls to do that again? Next to nothing has been done to reward loyalty of fans going every week and continuing to buy season tickets.
There is a real disconnect from the top down. Politically we have been a shambles and have failed to properly address the issues of the Offensive Behaviour Act and the fans wrongly targeted. They still try to push out charitable roots despite political stances that contradict the ethos of the club. Meanwhile the fans are the paupers scrambling around for morsels of joy while the elite at the top dine well with disregard and throw us the occasional scrap to keep us at arms length.

And yet stupidly, we keep going back for more.

This is just the start , Lawwell has lost all credibility with the supporters, his constant downsizing of everything at the club apart from his obscene salary has come home to roost .
the lack of any ambition to actually build a team , the lack of forward planning other than to identify and ultimately sell any half decent players has ripped the heart out of us.
From what I heard, he wasn't even at work today
He'll be down south trying to punt Tierney as we speak.

"Five Guys Burgers and Fries franchise" really needs to be said with a Northside Dublin accent.

Yep.
Was Dastardly actually at the game, or is this conjecture on someones part?
Apparently he was and according to PMGB ( I know ) Lawwell came in for the sharp edge of his tongue.
If this was true, and DD was truly shocked and angry then maybe, just maybe, he'll institute a root & branch
overhaul.

Before you all start giving me pelters, I said MAYBE

I think the board expect the fans to roll over and forget about it by Saturday.
They'll always be the happy clappers.
That's how out of touch they are!

That's a bit harsh, even I wouldn't blame Lawwell for Desmond's post-match steak being overcooked.

Unless you're suggesting that Desmond actually knows and cares enough about the club to have had an emotional reaction to the shambles Celtic have become? :o
