Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
I grew up when we won the league regularly. Other guys grew up when we won the European Cup. You grew up when we struggled to win the League Cup. No doubt some other guys grew up under the success of MON.

There isn't a single generation which is the correct one for people to measure their expectations against.

Would it not make more sense to look at the current situation and form an opinion of it based on it's own merits?
not when you're trying to feel sorry for the current generation who are having it as good as celtic have had in 30+ years

In the 30-odd years I've been watching Celtic, this is the period I've enjoyed the least with the exception of 1989-94. Judging by the dwindling crowds I'm not the only one.

I am 26, I've had a season ticket since I was 7, these are the least enjoyable times I've had as a Celtic fan.

anyone that preferred any period of the 90s or late 00s to the last 4 or 5 years is baffling

9 in a row. Regular European finals. Regular cup wins. Are you saying watching the huns dominate and try to bury us is better than that? Watching them do 9 in a row was a fantastic barrell of laughs that I wish I could go back and relive :ffs:

We have had a good bit of success but nowhere that of the older generation.

The period between 95-99 featured some heartbreaking defeats and crushing disappointments. It also gave us some brilliant footballers, excitement and a sense of anticipation - none of which we have at the moment. But hey, we'll win the league by 30 points and be playing meaningless games from Christmas onwards so this must be better.

Smashed what team? The one featuring Di Canio, Cadete & Van Hooijdonk? The one featuring Larsson, Viduka and Lambert? Not in my view.

Sorry, that last bit is just bollocks. You think Lennon's best team would have 'smashed' Wim Jansen's?

Jansen's team was worse off points-wise than the season before with Burns at the helm. Jansen is the probably luckiest manager in our history when you look back.

Luckier than being the one in charge when the huns died?
