It's worth noting that, with the club in the mess it's currently in, only one of our esteemed Board (Bankier) could be bothered turning up last night to watch that guff. Looks like our Directors canny be arsed watching that rubbish either.
Can imagine him last night:

"Oh gosh golly, what a shame that The Bhoys-that's the teams nickname by the way!- didn't win. Do these nasty rotters booing the team know that this is more than a rugby....err, football-football yes?- club? To be expected of such people, why can't they be more like the Tartan Army? Where's my 25 grand?"

unless one of those 2 told him
And then him telling us would be second hand info. Or, you know, he just made it all up.
Believe what you want sweetie. I know what I heard and from who and I'm good with that

I thought Lawwell was in Geneva with Doncaster and more chance of Haley's Comet making an appearance than DD. Does Tory Boy go to many games?

They will have spoken to Moyes/Keane, Mini MON and maybe others - That is what you would do - They have to cover their bases - Unlike the Manager they know they have to have a Plan B and Plan C.

Look at the WGS scenario when Coyle came back from his holiday in Florida on the Friday and that then went breests up Mowbray was in place by the Monday.

This Board needs a total overhaul. We need fresh blood from top to bottom. The decline we have witnessed in the last few years would have seen any corporate Board dismantled. The cold hard fact is that Celtic is the plaything of an absentee Landlord and an Accountant, and nothing that happens on the pitch matters as long as cocktails with Rod Stewart are on the agenda.
Lawwell has outstayed his welcome by some years now. He claims otherwise, but he has no idea how deep the feelings of the fans run, and how disenchanted we are. The level of disconnect between the club and it's support is as wide as it has been since the death throes of the Kelly/White era.
That he has the total support of the main shareholder and the Board should be a cause for grave concern. There is not one solitary dissenting voice amongst the decision makers. That is terrifying.
We have missed the greatest open goal we have ever been given, and we will live to regret it. Nothing will change unless everything changes.

Sadly so. I chucked the ST after WGS went, and had had it since Fergus arrived. Saw writing on the wall.

Lawwell lines his pockets with our blind faith.

I don't really understand why people think PL and the Board would be overly concerned about the state we're in.

The state we're in is a direct and totally predictable consequence of the decisions they've made since RFC killed themselves.

The "decline" we're in is the result of the pilot putting the nose down and turning the engines off.

As long as we win the league (which we probably will) and at least make it to the playoff round in the UCL (meaning we get EL when we get pumped by a club which actually has ambition and a bit of self-respect) then it's happy days.

We made £14 million this year. What else do we want?

I agree 100% that PL and the Board have put us in this state by their lack of ambition since the demise of the huns. Ronny is just a symptom.

But I don't think they're not concerned by how far and fast we've fallen this season. They can't help but notice the empty seats at CP and the unrest among those who are there. Lawwell is probably a cynical me-first winker, but he's not a complete idiot. His dilemma now is to figure out how to get out of this mess with his job and hopefully, from his perspective, his bonus intact.
Attendances have been falling since MON days. We've lost about 14,000 in average attendance in ten years.

PL's job is to manage the decline. To make sure we can plod along, making the odd sale to an EPL outfit, maybe making the UCL once every 4 or 5 years, scraping the league.

So, from PL and the Board's view, nothing is going badly. The plebs might be grumbling but when aren't they grumbling?

That's why all this hopeful chat about 'crisis meetings' and 'they must do something' is just - sadly - pie in the sky.

Celtic are currently where PL and the Board expect them to be.

So you think the members of the Board and PL - not daft people - genuinely believed that they could appoint a untested foreign manager, consistently and purposefully make the squad weaker and still be playing to a full stadium and remain miles ahead of the rest of Scottish football?

They believed in the cheap option, they believed it would work with little danger to the title.

It that last sentence is true, they are complete idiots and terrible business people to boot. The second I do believe. Lawwell and the Board haven't managed the decline, they've accelerated it.
