Lawwells failings are one thing, but he has given deila every opportunity to succeed. Whether we like it or not that is also part of the gig.

But if its true what some posters are saying in that they are looking at alternatives, then that is encouraging. The process has to accelerate now

They should be farting buttons looking at our next 4 fixtures in the league. Four sides that'll be scrapping like anything against us.

The board have a huge decision coming up soon. It seems inevitable the Deila nightmare will be brought to an end soon but when he goes, he leaves behind a club and support riddled with apathy.
After Mowbray was booted the board landed lucky with Lennon, a man whom the support unanimously admired and respected( well, almost unanimously) and the following season saw the feelgood factor back at Celtic Park, or thunder as he called it.

The thing is, we don't really have a Lennon to turn to now, I sure as hell don't want Larsson coming in and whilst I'd be delighted with Moyes there has been enough bickering on here over the last few days to tell me this decision wouldn't be universally popular.

Of course next season sees the rise of the huns and the media will milk this for all it's worth. We need a damn strong man at the helm to lead us into next season.
Thanks entirely to Deila the new man will also face incredible pressure to get us into the Champions league after missing out the previous two years. We really really need to get this one right.

That performance was one of the worst I've seen at CP.

I'll be generous and say about 25,000 were there, mostly ST holders, thousands of whom aren't even bothering to go. Anyone who is buying tickets to see us these days is mental. Wonder how much money we make from games nowadays?

PL has to run the business side of things at this club and the two best indicators of his performance are the numbers in the stadium and the numbers in the accounts. Both are dwindling. Whatever you think of Deila, our CEO is failing in his duties.

The recent AGM showed the board have nothing but contempt for us. I can see the them trying to weather the storm with Ronnie till the end of the season whilst risking the league in the process.

The board don't have the balls to sack him. They are risk averse and will hope he sees it through but hey that's what ye get for brining in a cheap manager and dud players. This Lawwell's pet project and he doesn't have the balls to see what is staring him in the face, which is the distinct possibility of us throwing away this league.

The last 2 occasions they have had to appoint someone as opposed to promote an existing member of staff they have its fair to say made a complete Arse of things and I have no confidence that they will get it right when Ronny is shown the door.

One thing about Desmond and Lawwell: they've managed, on a very modest budget, to get Celtic into the kind of state that is usually the result of grotesque overspending, or some other form of financial meltdown. True to form, even their disasters are done on the cheap. (With the exception of Lawwell's bonus, obviously.)

The size of investment needed to clean up the radioactive remains of Deila's reign just boggles the mind. And what kind of manager would agree to take on such an onerous task? Especially when we all know that the rebuilding job will not be adequately funded. The results of the club's haphazard approach to CL qualification over recent years have been entirely predictable, and excruciating to witness. If we manage to retain the league title this season, how on earth can we expect anyone to put together a new team in the few weeks/months they'll have before the next set of qualifiers gets underway. At this rate we could be talking about Legia, Molde etc. in nostalgic terms.

Desmond, Lawwell and any other board member can just walk away from this bomb-site of a club any time they feel like it. It's us that have to live with it.

The biggest insult of all is that while Lawwell oversees the sickening decline of the current Celtic side, he will continue to milk the commercial side of things for all he's worth. Can you even imagine the range of #LISBON50 merch he'll be foisting upon us as attendances hit the 20,000 mark and below next season. You couldn't make it up.

If Dermot Desmond had any sense of shame he'd already be seeking a buyer for his shares. Unfortunately I think he'll stumble on, dragging the club a lot deeper into the mire before he decides to disappear into the sunset in his leather-upholstered golf cart.

#LISBON50

Shocking.

Whilst there are clear problems in the boardroom, they are not responsible for Celtic hanging on against a second string Dundee side.
They are.

Who hired this cheap option nobody? Who's responsible for signing most of these duds? Whose years of downsizing and penny-pinching have seen us decline to this level?

I know what you're getting at but I disagree.
Enough tools are provided for the Celtic manager to romp the league and compete in Europe. The manager is failing on both. Yes, you can say all roads lead to Rome and they hired the manager, but it's not like they've hamstrung him to the point of being where we are.
The blame for hiring the manager who is failing rests with those who hired him. So yes, the ultimate blame lies with Lawwell and the board. That does not, of course, absolve Ronny of his own responsibility. He has the players and the resources to be taking care of business. But ultimately - as with any business - the failure of a department should rest with the department head. That is certainly not Ronny (who needs to be sacked immediately) - that is those above him starting with Lawwell.

There were 4 of us from the usual 7 there last night - only one still there by full time. There are now three definitely not getting season tickets and three questioning themselves. These are guys that kept them all during the nineties. That's where this board have gotten us

Imo it took more balls to stick with Ronny than sack him. Sack him and if we lose the league they could blame it on the manager. Keep him and lose the league they take the blame. So sticking with him was the brave decision - but a very, very wrong one.

Will those coming back next season because the beasts are back balance out those not renewing because they are rightly pissed off?

It pains me to hear absolute die hards talking about chucking it. Undoubtedly it's with a heavy heart but it's perfectly understandable as the club are happy to take their money but dont give the first eff about the pish they are served up. The enjoyment has gone for now and if the club dont act we face oblivion.

While I've heard plenty of folk who go say they are looking forward to them being 'back' :twitch: I've yet to speak to anyone who doesn't go say they'll pick up a book because the huns will be there.

Board are in for a rude awakening in that respect IMO.

Brave? They tried to find a replacement for him in December but ballsed that up. Nothing this board does is brave. It's risk averse and penny pinching.

To think the board are up in arms about the possibility of Scotlands future champions being excluded from CL.

WE WONT BE IN IT AT ANY STAGE NEXT SEASON IF WE DONT SACK THIS CLOWN AND WIN THE BLOODY LEAGUE!.

We need to win the league. Get it done, sack him and do it today.

Posted this in the Deila thread.

Heard there is an unscheduled meeting today. Not sure if this is a regular thing or just a coincidence but hopefuly it's to address this mess. Maybe someone in the know can confirm?
