If the Stephen Fletcher debacle in 2009, doesn't tell us enough about Lawwell's mindset, then maybe the Markus Henriksen story should remind us about the penny pinching that our CEO is renowned for and IS holding us back.

Back in 2012, we were keen on him as a replacement for Ki Seung Yeung. The transfer fee wanted was £1.75M by Rosenberg for a guy aged 20 and who was in the Norwegian national team squad.

However Pete wouldn't go beyond £1.4M. AZ did decide to meet the asking price.

It would appear that Henriksen is likely to leave AZ this summer for around 6M Euros and is a stand out this season as he is the Dutch club's main playmaker. They would probably get more but Henriksen will be going into the last year of his contract. His likely destination would appear to be Napoli.

Bearing in mind, this is a CEO who walked away from Olivier Giroud over a difference in wages of £2K a week and promptly spent the money on Rasmussen. And to think he gets a £500K bonus guaranteed every year.
The penny pinching is really shocking.

Or whether we pay the tax on the stake or on the winnings?

If Celtic are genuinely interested in greater exposure and publicity we could do no worse than Dutch club RKC Waalwijk's recent idea.

Good idea?

One of the most absurd things regarding Lawwell isn't just the fact that he's a bloated, deluded carrot who has served his time and has gotten away with far too many negligent decisions. It's that he has absolutely no incentives to do his job well.

So while in 6 months time we could again go without Champions League football for the 6th time in 8 seasons, his salary is always £1million due to the fix of the remuneration committee.

In spite of apathy, the wider Celtic support really should organise and campaign against Lawwell in upcoming months (not just a fortnight of KDS ire around AGM time); if not necessarily for him to be sacked (if only) as he'll only go if Desmond steps in; but campaign in forcing the board to commit to a complete restructure of his salary, whereby it's dependent on how successful we are on the park.

We win a title and qualify for the UCL? Fine, take your million, I'd still consider it too much but fine.

We win a title and don't qualify for the UCL? Sorry Peter, you're down to 200K in the upcoming financial year and should we lose a league title regardless of European context, we'll take that 200K and halve it. Tough shampoo, them's the breaks...

In my dreams.

It's getting to the stage we'll need to hire one of they planes that nearly did Farage in to fly a message over some far flung golf course.

Lawwell's nadir - regretfully - could be just around the corner. I fear we could end up trophy less this season. Lawwell's failure to do the sensible thing after Molde (you could argue he should have done it after Malmo) and get a new manager could have the severest repercussions.

We all peeed ourselves at Sevco last year but this could be our turn for the utter humiliation. In my lifetime we will never have a better chance of 10 in a row. If we throw it away I won't be back as long as PL is there

Their complacency with regard to footballing matters is as stunning as it is infuriating. It's going to take another car park type fiasco for them to take notice of our discontent or take any action to change the current management regime; losing the league, another horrendous euro campaign or a loss to sevco next season. Otherwise they will completely rubber us.

Our close working relationship at boardroom level with DUFC has paid off spectacularly, with Thompson taking on board all the great DOF/CEO ideas ours has.
Posting a record profit whilst being simultaneously relegated from the top league & becoming a footballing shadow of their former selves.
Probably get a nice big bonus for such good financial results.

I'll say it again. The board are taking the gamble of their lives by not sacking Deila - this season could end up as our equivalent of Sevco 2014/15.
