Ticket pricing is ridiculous. The Accies game that was postponed, and now rearranged for a Tuesday night is still £26 a ticket. No wonder the ground's almost empty for league games at that price.
I agree it is a ridiculous price for that game. However it is obviously done with season ticket holders in mind as we've already paid up front for this game so it would be a bit of a slap in the face to see it being offered at £10 to walk up supporters.

I think the club really needs to be doing more for season ticket holders other than "you're guaranteed your seat for European games". Even that wasn't guaranteed last season when they moved the North Stand downstairs for the Europa League group games.

Celtic's catch 22 is getting players good enough to play in the CL but if they are good enough we can't keep them to build a team that's good enough to play in the CL.The model is flawed but it's not as if there's a more workable one available.
We did have it sussed to an extent for a year or two but the game has moved on & ran away from us again. We have turned from a well run, lesser budgeted side defeating teams with higher transfer & wage allowances than we have to a reduced budget team losing out to clubs with lesser tariffs than our own.

It helps having a manager like Strachan who could accomplish those type of feats, the clowns that wanted him gone should never be entertained again, unless of course they feel they have been more entertained since his departure.
Yeah like he done well after he left Celtic , both in England and Scotland . to think he wants to revamp Scottish football !!
His job with Scotland is far from done, I have always been behind giving highly notable and intelligent former players a shout in how the game should be run, let's see how it ends.

Aye, more needs to be made of the season ticket for people that hold one. Fair play to those folk, I don't have the money or the time to get to every game, especially with the ever changing kick off times. They need more than "you're supporting the club! You can have first dibs at really good tickets!"

Is it Germany that clubs offer free or discounted travel with a season ticket?

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Scouting has to take a fair portion of the blame too. The number of utterly shampoo strikers we've pissed money away on over the last 4-5 years is unreal.
Not just strikers, add Loans and way too many abstract Midfielders to the mix (though curiously not one who can tackle), it's a heady mix of failure.

Strachan got the job done with the poorly scouted Sno and Donati. What we would give now though for the KDS maligned talents of Hartley and Robson ("aye but pyoor pish against Barca", fact is now we don't have a player fit to be on the same park as the Catalans never mind score) and a Manager who knew how to get a result in Europe now and again.

Be sure not to listen to those who are careless and stupid when they wish for things.
Go to bed.

That was over an hour ago, I'm watching NFL now.

It's okay to talk shampoo on those guys I've mentioned but defend them at your peril. Is this the future that was dreamed of when Strachan was hounded? Are you enjoying your football?

The football became honking under Strachan too, and he had far better players. He only left due to fans becoming so fed up.

Anyhoo, daft to even WGS. Celtic need a better, more experienced manager., whoever he is.

Not just season tickets mate, any ticket in Germany comes with free public transport to the game. Even if you are traveling from Berlin to Freiburg, or wherever. Tram links from train station to ground, the lot.
Just show your ticket for the game & that's it.
Love it, so much we can learn from other countries - it's not rocket science to copy the best bits & implement it here.
Iceland's public access to all weather pitches or indoor facilities.
Everytime, time & again, it's our board & the SFA, who are sleepwalking over a cliff.
People turning away from the game every day & the blazers look on in comfort.

The grounds in Germany (the bigger ones anyway) are generally owned by local authorities and leased by the clubs (they were built with taxpayers' money for the 2006 World Cup). That might have something to do with it.

Celtic used to include free travel to the games on the train years ago. Just show your season book on the train and that was it. Stopped it for some reason

We had a discounted deal with Citylink a couple of seasons ago. It was pretty useless to be honest.

It was completely useless. For some reason the Citylink and Megabus websites have different prices for the same bus. Even with the Citylink discount the Megabus website was usually cheaper, and folk using public transport will usually book well in advance to get even cheaper deals.

Not sure if this should be in the board section, but I can't figure where else it would be best posted.. I suppose the board is at the crux of reasons behind this post...

You know, last night I was watching some of the goals tweeted by the Celtic goals account and it got me in the mood for looking at Celtic clips on you tube from min90's onwards. And as much as it brought some amazing memories back, the atmospheres, the players, the goals we scored... When I stopped watching I realised just how far we've fallen from then and it's genuinely gutting.

It's happened bit by bit, year by year..

Its like when you haven't seen someone in 10years. And you notice the stark difference, maybe they've put 5 stone on - and when you see that person, by God you notice it. But that persons family & friends don't see it the same way you do cause they've seen that person every day.

To me, that's happened here. We're the family and friends who've seen the quality of a team drop bit by bit, year by year. The difference is quite unbelievable. We all know that we're nowhere near the levels we used to be 10-20 years ago... But it wasn't till I looked back at some old videos I realised just how much our level has dropped. Put our current team on the pitch against any teams from 1998-2008 and it would get a hammering.

God, I remember being at Celtic v shakhtar when donati scored an injury time winner and the whole stadium stayed back to sign another rendition of YNWA.

How times have changed.

The thing that gets me with the old clips is how full the stadium always was. Back in the days of waiting lists for season tickets :(

Does anyone know if there was any movement on the comments about someone or a group making an offer for DD's shares? I think it was said that there would be more on it over the new year.
