What compounds the Bankier situation is that he must have known a question would be coming about Livingstone. He had time to think about the right way to handle it and - as a supposed professional - thought the best thing to do was go on a tirade and accuse the supporters of being racist.

He can deny that all he wants. It's the truth.

It's like that Scientology tactic of answering any question with a venemous personal attack. The club statement is even worse. Last time I checked, they don't ask supporters opinions on how they should run the club yet they feel the need to express their dissapointment that the Celtic Trust didn't run things by them before publishing.

I don't think Bankier can recover any sort of relationship with the fans after this. He hasn't apologised or been in any way honest about his choice of words. He comes across as someone that holds the fans in contempt.

Some the comments in here really underline how small minded a place certain parts of the world can be. According to the overall sentiment here Conservative supporters are not welcome to attend Celtic park or have a say in how the club should be run. I'm just glad KDS is not representative of the overall support of Celtic Football Club.

He only needs to appear in public for around an hour every year in an official capacity and that he knew the issue was going to be raised and this was the best he could do?
Amateur hour

Yeah, Tory bastards should have no say in the running of our club. Your problem with that is what exactly? Where isn Celtic's Mission Statement does it say we will welcome people who target the poor?

What about the SNP or Labour supporters who turn up at Celtic park? They allowed to engage in dialogue?

Well I'm rather pissed off that Tories, who are shampooting all over the poor, have a say in how a club that was founded to help the least in society is being run. Taking decisions like denying their employees the right to wage they can live on.

Tories can support Celtic if they want, but if you know your history an aw that...

Brian Quinn, whether you agreed with him or not was a decent and true gentleman, and a true Celtic fan, and one thing he never did was talk down to or show disrespect to the Celtic support.

Ps It could be worse than Bankier, we could have feckin you as chairman

The Tory love in at board level isn't representative either. People who are actively engaged in targeting the poor can get lost, they're in the wrong place. Regardless of party.

A true gentleman - well I guess that makes the fact he was another Tory bastard who was central in the IMF and the Bank of England OK then? GTF - our club has been run for the pleasure of London based Tories for a number of years and Quinn was among them.,

I can't remember them espousing their particular views.

Funnily enough none of our board were advocating a Yes vote either.
