Some of his recent unused substitute appearances have won me over. I can no longer see the parallels - whatsoever - with the gazumping tactics of the huns a few years ago.
Did you see much of Scott Allan when he was at Hibs? If you did, and you're still sticking to your woeful point about gazumping the Hüns, the only conclusion can be that you don't know much about football.

If you haven't seen much of Allan in action, maybe hold off until he's made a few appearances for Celtic, eh? Just a thought, like.
I saw some of him at Dundee United. A bit less at WBA. None at any of the various 4 lower-league English clubs he was on-loan at. I saw nothing of him at Championship Hibs.

We signed him in the summer transfer window. A summer which saw almost wall-to-wall speculation that he'd join Rangers, "dream move" etc. Then, almost out of nowhere, we make a move to sign the 23-year-old. A 23-year-old who we signed in the summer, and who is yet to start a game for Celtic. And we're in November now.

But you're right - I don't know much about football because I don't watch Hibs games.
To me it smacks of someone the manager didnt want, but we signed anyway. Look at any number of buys under Lennon who barely featured.

Apparently Allen has been out of the picture because he’s not fit enough yet. Something about his diabetes being a problem over the past couple of months since he came in. He was also injured I think when he first signed for us.

Aye, because MON and Strachan never had any players in their squad that weren't getting much of a look in. You're just seeing what you want to see.

The move for him wasn't out of nowhere.
As I've said on here before, we approached him just before we signed Armstrong and after that deal went through he was told the move wasn't dead but we'd be watching him in the Championship that season

Can we get this thread back to discussing our inept governance?

IN response to considerable interest from supporters, shareholders and media representatives in recent days, Celtic today made the following statement:
“We are aware of last week’s Court of Session ruling, which we note is subject to potential appeal.
“Celtic’s position on this issue is consistent – that this remains a matter for the courts of law and also the Scottish football authorities whose rules are intended to uphold sporting integrity.
“In 2013, we expressed surprise – shared by many observers and supporters of the game - over the findings of the SPL Commission that no competitive or sporting advantage had resulted. That remains our view."

A good statement, written no doubt by one of our legal representatives.

Now, if only we paid so much due care and attention to football operational matters.

So you don't think the board will listen to the fans on this and just tell them to eff off?

Bombs were previously sent to Celtic Park by lunatics supporting Rangers.

Celtic are quite right to go about their business quietly. The security of employees and fans has to be a factor for Celtic.

It will be in next years accounts and the amount spent on players is a total and not broken down into individual transfers.

Think Mikey said that Deila wanted him but collins wasn't keen.

Why is this being discussed, anyway? He's been injured.

Our chairman met with the British Prime Minister in the two weeks leading up to last year's Independence Referendum.

I didn't get a vote in in it but I did/do follow it. I'm uncomfortable with it.

Apologies for going over what is probably old ground but I'm hoping for some advice re Friday's AGM. My brother-in-law is unable to attend & has offered to let me go as his proxy. I have the paperwork but don't really follow what's involved. Do we have to return the signed form showing me as his proxy or can I just bring it with me on the day? Alternatively, if I just turn up with his voting card will any ID checks be carried out?

Also worth noting this passage from Alex Salmond's book:

Mr Salmond writes: “Try to get celebrity endorsements from two key figures in the world of sport and music.

“Phone Scotland and Celtic captain Scott Brown, who has developed into a very considerable footballer. Scott normally wears his heart on his sleeve on and off the pitch and is a YES supporter.

“However, his contract negotiations with Celtic are at a delicate stage and he is under pressure not to make a political declaration.”

Not surprised in the slightest. If Bankier was unavailable, that carrot Wilson would've gone in his place.
