Collins is a shoe in for the next manager..
Can't see it.

Lamber isn't the hot ticket he was pre-Villa but he's said in the past that he isn't interested in managing in Scotland. He's also experienced what happens when an owner isn't interested in investing in players. He lost his job, in part, because he was forced to field a team of youngsters and bargain bin players with only two very good players - Benteke and Delph - bringing any quality. It's not far off the situation Ronny is in at the moment.

The main reason I'm willing to give it a bit more time is because I'm afraid who we'd end up with as a replacement. I wouldn't be at all surpsied if Collins got it because he'd be cheap and would be sold to us as a coach with previous success who's also one of the best players we've had in the past 20-odd years.

Sell your best players every year and replace with cheaper

That's what selling clubs do? :ponder:
Our finances would be a right mess if we didn't.

Our problem is too many punts, especially when it comes to strikers and not investing a chunk of the wages in keeping players who would stay, like Hooper & Ledley instead of 7k here, 8k there on bangura & balde plus I hate to think what on pukki, Derk and scepovic.

[/quote] Absolutely. No one is expecting us to go and spend 5 million plus on players and I think we realise that we need to sell players at times. However, the balance is not there and we have signed more crap than good players.

Edit: seem to have made a mess of quoting :ponder:

The zombiefecation of the fils de bigoterie offered a fantastic opportunity for us to put clear green water between ourselves and the revenants when they eventually crawled out of the primordial swamp of the SPFL Championship.

With the way clear to the CL Groups through the Champions route our billionaire should have been underwriting that progress.

Domestically we had the easy task of putting down the foundations to be invincible here in Scotland for decades to come - the famous "generation of domination" that CQN was so fond of referencing.

What have DD and PL done instead? Drawn the line at being just ahead (hah!) of the new challengers and no more.

When the zombies turn up at CP next season they will encounter a force that will be not only not out of sight but eminently beatable.

So you are "dedicated to creating a world class football club here", are you, Peter?

You slick and mendacious bonus-grabber, Lawwell. You have done the least possible with the smallest amount of "risk" to keep us just where we are, which is slipping backwards all the time.

You have taken the biggest risk of all by doing the least of all, and you have thrown the wrong dice. Your only strategy is preparing for "Why Don't You Go Home" to be sung at CP again, and welcoming it with joy and relief.

Sickened. Utterly sickened.

When we lose our feeder club status for Southampton maybe the board will take notice.

To put it another way: Malmo spend a lot less money than us, yet have a better team.

Aberdeen have spent about sixty grand on transfer fees the last three seasons and had a team out yesterday that more than matched us in every department.

That's sheer incompetence from board to dugout.

Wouldn't believe it wasn't even a few years ago since 'that' night at park head against Barcelona :( would kill to have that team back again. The board have truly bent us over and royally effed us.

They're banking on when Sevco get promotion next season then its game on again.

I hope our fans show them we are above being conned and paying to see the 'Old Firm' back,as it will be ramped up big time when they get promotion.

Lawwell and Desmond licking their lips at the thought.

It's been mentioned on here before about the overly cosy relationship between our CEO and the major/minor shareholder - does anyone expect that PL would ever be sacked?

He inspires people to think, act, feel and live, in the same way that the Lord Martin showed to him.
