What was our spend on players this year compared to what we took in?

No risk equals no reward, then you realise that taking no risk is the riskiest strategy there is.

Well put. I've been saying similar things for a good few years. By taking the parsimonious "nothing ventured, nothing lost" route, Lawwell and the board are assuming the supporters will just keep eating up whatever they're served. A very dangerous assumption. I wonder when they'll wake up to that.

We have regressed so much as a club which is worrying.

Change is needed but doubt it will happen, sadly.

The most annoying part of this is that we have been saying it for years yet nothing is done about it. We need to make a statement (an actual statement not one of those Struthian type the huns do) to let the board know just how we feel

The dwindling crowds should be a loud enough statement to them but it hasn't been.

Celts for change mark II?

We are being managed at the level of boardroom and significant shareholder. We have no desire other than to remain in business.

I'm sure there was a banner that hinted at our frustrations re the team and the board. It was booed by a large majority.

The zombiefecation of the fils de bigoterie offered a fantastic opportunity for us to put clear green water between ourselves and the revenants when they eventually crawled out of the primordial swamp of the SPFL Championship.

With the way clear to the CL Groups through the Champions route our billionaire should have been underwriting that progress.

Domestically we had the easy task of putting down the foundations to be invincible here in Scotland for decades to come - the famous "generation of domination" that CQN was so fond of referencing.

What have DD and PL done instead? Drawn the line at being just ahead (hah!) of the new challengers and no more.

When the zombies turn up at CP next season they will encounter a force that will be not only not out of sight but eminently beatable.

So you are "dedicated to creating a world class football club here", are you, Peter?

You slick and mendacious bonus-grabber, Lawwell. You have done the least possible with the smallest amount of "risk" to keep us just where we are, which is slipping backwards all the time.

You have taken the biggest risk of all by doing the least of all, and you have thrown the wrong dice. Your only strategy is preparing for "Why Don't You Go Home" to be sung at CP again, and welcoming it with joy and relief.

Sickened. Utterly sickened.

Figures released show we made a £4m loss in the last year. No bonus for PL then but it also shows that we don't have the money the spend that everyone was clamouring for.

Quite the contrary. If we'd put ourselves deeper in debt then we would have been assured champions league football with the millions of pound rewards that that brings.

I would have thought that was self evident and didn't need stated.

There is absolutely no assurances that we would have made the champions league by spending say another £5m.

Saint, I know that and you know that however we are by far in the minority on that score here.

Not spending came with cast iron guarantees that we would end up with an awful squad. We're there now. There's no doubt about that.

We're not spending the money wisely. We appear to be paying over the odds for players lacking in technical skills and we're not buying players to make the first team better. Our only signing this season who's gone straight in the team has been Boyata and he's been poor.

The people who think we are currently on the correct course conveniently forget that if we did buy better players in an attempt to make the Champions League and failed we still have those players as tangible assets who we could sell at some point. To not buy then sell your best players to cover the lack of qualification means the well of talent is running dry. Who have we left to sell next summer if we don't qualify? We'll probably have to sell two or three players as none that are left are worth anywhere near Virgil's fee
