I might be new to this forum but have followed Celtic
for nearly 50 years. I have enjoyed the great highs and suffered
the lows. I have been honoured to call some of the Lions,
personal friends and have them stay in my house.
I didn't see the game tonight, but from what I can
gather, it was as deplorable as any of our worst performances
in Europe.
We all know that this board has been taking advantage of
our loyalty for some years now.
They have betrayed us yet again. The facts have been
well set out by other posters.
Lawell is a poseur and a well paid lackey of the major
shareholder ( who is not resident in Ireland in order to avoid
paying taxes ) Remind us of anyone?
At a time when we should have been able to enjoy the death
of Rangers, we have to look at the pathetic scenario
at home.
I'm also beginning to think that the tribute act will survive.
Certainly this board has not taken any heed of the fans need to
have the real questions asked of the Scottish football authorities
re their activities in protection of the hun and Ogilvie et al.
A smart quip from Lawell and the scandal of the " living wage "
decision was forgotten.
As regards the appointment of RD, I couldn't agree with so many
posters who were so anti Henrik.
Finally spare a thought for poor Biton who probably was in no fit
state to play tonight distraught with worry that some of his
brothers in arms may have come to some harm as they carried out
the slaughter of innocent children in Gaza.

Thing I don't get. Some folk Give Lawell et al plaudits for getting us on an even keel. Breaking even with that squad of mediocrity and the fanbase we have isn't an achievement, it's failure.

Where is the money going? if we have a 5 star back of office set up, then get it to eff and spend the money on the pitch.

My my this thread has jumped.

Sometimes it takes a humping for people to open their eyes.

Lawwell should be emptied. Downsized everywhere (including the manager), and we saw the evidence in full view tonight.

It can't be true that Deila is on less wages than Tony Watt was can it?

DD was there tonight, wonder how he feels about it?
once he gets his grizzly ol' arms around a fit young polish air stewardess, my guess is he couldn't care less :chuffed:

The team at the end of last season was worse than the team at the end of the previous season.

The team at the start of this season will be worse than the start of last season.

And that's it, descending ever further into a cave of medicority
We're well past mediocre. Legia are mediocre.
We just got pumped 4-1 by a team who scraped a 1-1 draw with St Pats. This is the only fact that the board should be looking at. As Remy said, Lawell should be utterly carpeted for this. A massive public down sizing at every level of the club and this is where he has got us.
We will only spend money if we get to the CL!! It should be the other way round FFS. These games are the most important of the year. Our financial progress depend on them. We should be investing to ensure that we get through not investing IF we get through.
Exactly.

Spend money, and if the shampoo hits the fan in the QL then sell a couple of big players to make up for it.

The fans would understand at least.

Success on the pitch is not the point anymore..

The business is more important than the football.

That radovic would do a job for us.
Ok he's not going to score a bucket load in the CL but he looks better that anything we have and would get 25 + domestically.

But he's not 20, won't have a sell on fee and we might only get 3 years out of him.

So fecking what, the projects need some experience around them.
What would he cost? 1.5m and 10 grand a week.

Pah.
I wouldn't take anyone who looks good against us. That would be pretty much everyone on that showing.

We've been had.

I gave up my season ticket this year. I kept it up in previous seasons despite only making it to 5 or 6 home games due to work as I wanted to make a contribution to the club. I'm feeling it's for the best as being taken for a mug is not "in my DNA"

Amazing to think that a couple of seasons ago, we were on the way to building a decent team. Then we became this. :nono:

And being a cynic, Over the next few days, maybe even as soon as tomorrow, I fully expect the papers to link Celtic with at least one big name player that we won't sign in an attempt to distract the fans.

Ive been one of the very vocal critics of the board for years on here and results like tonight are inevitable given the strategy they have. We mock the Sevco fans for lapping up the pish from the chancers running their club but are we really any different?

The current Celtic board have been taking us for mugs for years and the last few seasons especially given the money we've taken in through transfers and champions league money.

The board dont give a eff if we make the group stages this season, they'll make up the shortfall with selling VVD and FF.

I dont blame the manager for tonight, he's a victim of the board as much of the fans. If he has any sense he will GTF before Lawwell et al ruin his fledgling career.

As an aside the players should also hang their heads in shame for tonight. We aint a good side but should never be hammered by a team of that standard the way we were tonight. They chucked it.

We've got to the CL the last two seasons & still wouldn't spend. Lennon was the cheap option but amazingly we've even downsized on him. The sad thing is that tonight's pathetic performance ,against poor opposition ,has only really surprised the minority. Most of us saw this coming, judging by this thread. Continuing with the clubs recent strategy meant it was inevitable that we would reach this low level. What other outcome could there have been?

If the guys who defend Lawwell came out and said they were relations, friends, acquaintances etc then I'd understand. Otherwise, what is it going to take for them to see where our club is headed being run like this?

I'm glad Desmond was there tonight. Hopefully he'll decide to give his toy a fresh lick of paint.

Fair enough, I was more making the point that the team full of projects to get sell on from everyone needs to change.

He's on that UEFA pannel and the SFA one, too. He'll be here for a while yet.
