Peter Lawwell doesn't care about how you feel tonight. He doesn't care about how you feel ever. Whilst your benchmark for success is great Celtic players playing football the Celtic way, with success in the CL and domestic dominance, his benchmark is profit. How much can the company make this year? Where can we find a nice money spinner? Which of our best players do Southampton want this transfer window?

When you have someone running a football club whose bonus is predicated on selling players, there can only be one result. The team will get worse year on year because the only thing that matters is the financial health of the company. If a profit can be made through CL qualification, that's a bonus; if not, another way will be found.

What makes me sick to my stomach tonight is the Club Link No Other crap that we're fed all the time. People who care about making money, well-known businessmen who are interested in their pay packet and nothing else, actually have the gall to tell us that our club has a special ethos. Newsflash: it doesn't. That's because Peter Lawwell has destroyed the ethos of the club.

Imagine being the person who can take something with so much emotional resonance for millions of people across the globe - and across the generations - and sacrifice it at the altar of pounds and pence? If it were me, I wouldn't be able to look myself in the mirror. A Club Like No Other - don't make me laugh.

Lawwell has to carry the can for this.
He won't. He's bomb proof.

The usual folk will do their moaning, there'll be a surge in "Lawwell GTF" posts when the transfer window shuts, nae carrot will do anything about it, and Board resentment dies down mid-October when we're skelping wee diddy clubs. Rinse and repeat next summer.
You can thank the happy clappers for that.

Next home game for 90 minutes the GB should do nothing but chant anti-board stuff. Instead they'll sing about the heat of Lisbon and 10IAR and over celebrate when we score.
eff me, that's some stretch to have a dig at the GB.

You keep downsizing, and I include the manager, eventually it bites you on the arse.

We aim to come out every transfer window stronger.

People still believe it too. Lawwell's time is up.
For as long as Desmond pulls the strings of the board, his man on the ground Lawwell will remain in post, unless he voluntarily walks and there are a million reasons a year why I cant see that happening .
The support are taken for granted, and until we, en masse, let them know enough is enough, we will have the same fare served up.
You are of course correct in that Lawwells time is up.

It doesn't matter who is signed from where. All that matters is the quality, and the potential. And how recruits will effect what we do, both now, and in the future.
As it is, our recruitment isn't good enough.
Armstrong and GMS I think in time will prove to be decent enough.
But Ciftci? No idea.
But should we be going into a euro qualifying campaign with only two strikers - one of which isn't remotely proven, and is banned for a load of domestic games?
I thought we were underprepared in forward positions last year, but this year was much worse.

Sorry to burst your bubble chum, but no it's not. Peter Lawwell has no benchmark. As I've said on here before - Bullet proof Pete has received his monster salary - and complete bonus - regardless of what happens either on or off the pitch. Profits down - here ya go, Pete. Share price down, here ya go Pete. Debt up, here ya go Pete. Turnover down, here ya go Pete. League lost, here ya go Pete. Tomorrow, I am going to try and calculate what this individual has earned at Celtic. I suspect it is more than Henrik Larsson. The man is complete joke. But he is enabled by Dermot Desmond.

And his shameful scripted interview this time last year.

I've never had the urge to punch my computer screen so much. Arrogant carrot that knows he can get away with it.

Lawwell will still get his cool million after Van Dijk is sold. Renumeration packages shouldn't be based on profit in the transfer market. It should be based on success on the pitch allied to financial stability.
