I like a kick at the board as much as the next man but i dont really think they get a kicking for tonight.

How much money do they need to provide to the manager to not be outclassed by a team with a fraction of our budget? How many resources do they need to provide before the team can do the basics and defend a corner kick or a throw in? How many resources are required to stop Berget looking like a world beater?

Sadly the buck stops with the manager and the players tonight.

Who appointed the manager and paid buttons for the substandard players?
Don't get me wrong, i am not a fan of the board and would cheerfully see a change of direction but i dont want to let the manager and the players off the hook tonight.

The resources given to Deila, whether they cost buttons or are substandard to where we want or believe Celtic players should be, should still have been capable of turning over a Malmo team with a fraction of the budget of Celtic. They certainly shouldnt have got pumped as they did.

In the same way that we would expect to be turned over by teams in CL with massive budgets, those players should have been good enough. They werent and made a guy who looked like a diddy at Celtic park last year look like a world beater.

We'll grumble, PL will do hee haw other than sell VVD, he will get his £1M bonus & salary, he'll crack a joke at Sevco's expense at the AGM and he'll continue to be Teflon Pete.

And we all know this will happen.

I'm not arguing. But this is what happens when you keep downsizing....

Bullet proof Pete. I said 10 years ago this joker had been installed as a de facto Director of Football and was ridiculed. A monumental ego, a monumental salary and a momumental eff up from beginning to end.

He's monumentally arrogant and is singlehandedly responsible for us being - without any competition - no nearer a team or a squad of any purpose, a club like lots of others with no character

He's brought us Mowbray Lennon and Ronny and he's cut the legs from the last two

For the love of Celtic peter please go

We spend a lot of money. We just don't spend it wisely too often. Less players for the same wage bill would see an uplift in quality.

We're so far beyond what the rest of the SPFL can afford that we'll win simply by default, no matter who's in charge.

We're well ahead of any potential Champions League qualifying teams, but we need a manager who's experienced enough to take us there.

Here's a novel idea Pete. See instead of pishing money on potential 'projects' and lumbering us with a cheap, inexperienced option in charge, try spending some money on a decent manager and see how that goes.

Lawwell has to carry the can for this.
He won't. He's bomb proof.

The usual folk will do their moaning, there'll be a surge in "Lawwell GTF" posts when the transfer window shuts, nae carrot will do anything about it, and Board resentment dies down mid-October when we're skelping wee diddy clubs. Rinse and repeat next summer.
x2

This is exactly what will happen i.e. nothing.

Nothing will happen, we'll all forget about it by November when we've stormed ahead of Hearts and Sevco draw away to Falkirk LOL WARBS or something.

Last year I was angry, now I'm totally apathetic.

Spot on but it won't happen because a real experienced manager would never allow the CEO to dictate the way that both Ronnie and Lenny did. They were given the job because they were cheap and wouldn't rock the boat.
The manager has to be the most important person at a football club as long as he has the final say in footballing matters
There is no evidence that the players arriving at the club are really the ones that the manager wants

I've not always agreed with your wilfully contrarian opinions at times, but in this case you're bang on the money.

Lawwell out. It's the hope that kills you.

You can thank the happy clappers for that.

Next home game for 90 minutes the GB should do nothing but chant anti-board stuff. Instead they'll sing about the heat of Lisbon and 10IAR and over celebrate when we score.

Great Scott!

We've gone back...to the summer of 2014!

Whilst we're talking about the Board, it's also worth considering that we had to play a 19 year old Manchester United reserve since someone, somewhere decided to cash in on Adam Matthews to send him to Sunderland's bench... A sound piece of business.

Everybody should remember tonight when we sign yet another average SPFL player, when we get smug, when we point at the dead club and laugh or warn that we could end up like them. It's all bullshampoo. The club is stagnating.

It's cool.

When there's 'no competition' we'll get a 'free run' at the Champions League money and this time next year, Rodney...

I'd gladly see the whole board follow suit of our finance director tonight and go, Lawwell has sucked every bit of good we have out of this team. His double act with John Park when it comes to signings is something that most managers would run 100 miles from. He's let us all down tonight, just like last year.
