Been away for the weekend, not been on KDS (or any website for that matter) but my opinion of our board hasn't altered since last week - they can go and get effed. The effing lot of them.

It's as simple as this, if there is no investment in the squad today then I will not put one single penny into Celtic until there is.

That means no money from me for tickets, either of the new kits, any of the training range I usually get, Xmas presents for family from the superstore.

Not one dime. eff them.

So if they have the brass neck to not sign an actual striker by the end of this window and I don't mean a effing loan, I mean a well researched striker with a bit of ability and a bit of potential, then that's it for me.

Would I protest, maybe, but, they have taken all the joy and excitement out of supporting Celtic, that I will probably be too apathetic to protest, I will just shut my wallet.

I'm surprised Desmond hasn't come in for more flak as Lawwell takes orders from him. To exactly what extent we don't know as he's extremely rarely seen or heard. He's making serious money from the club or he wouldn't still be involved. Desmond is a far bigger problem than Lawwell. As for providing Ronny with transfer funds, we're in an awkward situation. On the one hand any new manager should be given scope to build his own team but the other side if the coin is his glaring lack of nous. I was alarmed when he spoke about reaching a stage where we can dominating games against top European sides and absolutely nothing has happened since to alleviate those concerns. The guy is a fantasist.

DD selling his shares is possible although who would buy them? The huns are going under, again, and our squad is of such an appalling standard that we have no chance of making any headway in Europe in the near future, a miracle barring.

Outwith a fan buy-out I can't see it happening.
I see that fat Ashley winker buying the huns in the near future.

He is probably just waiting for the most opportune moment, even if it means them going in to Administration
again first.
I think your spot on. Ashley probably smells blood and knows they're going under again, and no-doubt has the clout to buy out major shareholders.

3rdco with proper management and some investment will be a cash cow.

This, Desmond possibly might want to sell his shares , but seriously who on earth would want to buy them.

Scottish football is in terminal decline and unless there is a ruling from UEFA about the distribution of TV money it will slowly die.

in saying all this however, the way we are being run by the present board is an outrage and they must be shampooting themselves the way its turned out.

hell mend them.
My evil conspiracy brain says DD has placed Lawwell at the SFA to wave through 3rdCo's application to join the leagues again.

He sounds like he has chucked it. A club as big a name as ourselves should be nowhere near this position. Complete downer from top to bottom. It's pretty embarrassing as it seems nobody has a clue how to run us properly.

It's a lot easier to come by if you have no domestic competition to prevent you qualifying for the CL every year.
You haven't thought that through.

Base price of a season ticket up or down?

Number of season ticket holders up or down?

Number of match day tickets purchased up or down?

Number of corporate boxes open up or down?

All this with free entry to the CL

Now before you jump down my throat and tell me that it isn't all down to Rangers - I know its not. Nor am I saying that Turnover is down- I also know it isn't. But the fact that it isn't does not mean that 10m turnover is easy to come by in a league with no competition - irrespective of the fact that you might or mightn't qualify for the CL, because we were doing that even with the Zombies in the league.

TO is up by flogging our better players for a profit and selling 4 new replica shirts a season.
I really have and Murphio has explained it very concisely.

In the last few years, without the huns, we have been effectively guaranteed entry into CL qualifiers via an easier champions route, with the prize at the end being £15-20m. That we have managed to bollox this up says much for the state we're currently in however it should more than compensates us for any money we lose from not having them in the league, even if it is as much as £10m.

And I would suggest that the declining attendances and corporate hospitality income is equally if not more a result of having a team of diddies and a recruitment/transfer policy which has completely pissed off a large proportion of the support than simply not having 2 home games against them.

Why go on about a 'lost 10m' when last year's turnover saw an increase of 24m from Rangers last season in the league? Rangers decline has cost us in one pocket but has also allowed us to stuff significantly more cash in the other. This lost 10m is a lot of nonsense. Income is up, profits are up, bank debt is gone and we are sitting on cash. Quite why people are buying this lost 10m pish is beyond me.
It's more than just an annoying thing for the Chief Exec to allude to, let alone say - I find it properly downright shameful. Even if it were true, what would be the point in moaning about it? The huns died and that's that. It was inevitable, it was self induced, it was at worst a necessary financial blow the league and at best one of the great, positive defining moments in Scottish football. We went into debt trying to keep up with their unsustainable, dishonest spending, so telling us we're worse off now they're gone? :cuckoo:

The fact it's ostensibly a complete lie is cause for real anger. It's beyond insulting to the fans. Lawwell could and quite possibly should be facing complete mutiny.

Lawwell prepares the strategy and delivers his plan to the board

Make no mistake this is lawwells strategy - approved by dermot and the board

It's been high risk all along driving down debt and relying on competency of himself park and rookie manager

And guess what he's repeatedly failed to deliver against his own targets

He should be sacked

It's not a complete lie - domestic income could very well be down by 10m per season. It's just a meaningless number in the overall picture, completely without context and utterly disingenuous.

I assume that the couple of things we were working on was Balde and/or Pukki moving out?
Do we have anyone even remotely promising coming through the ranks who could do a Burchill/Creaney type job :ffs:

 Fair point, disingenuous is probably a lot more accurate.
