Personally, I am, but the way some on here talk about them you'd think that they're just out to get us. Given how financially unpredictable things are in Scotland right now, I think their approach is spot on. We got the last 16 of the CL with a squad assembled using the policy. I know we weren't great this year, but every signing is a gamble and unfortunately only a couple paid off. Would you get rid of Pedro & co or are you satisfied? Don't really know the intricacies of how the boardroom works. What's the alternative to Pedro and co. |

People who aren't as tight fisted, seems to be the preferred alternative. |

Perhaps a little tight fisted, spend a lot on various prospects that turn out shampoo but they could also make large purchases that also turn out shampoo. I think we are very well run and for that I'm thankful and wouldn't like us to go the way of some other clubs who've been living out with their means. Not saying we are perfect but we could a hell of a lot worse. I'm happy with the current board. |

I love the general strategy, though I think we have to be careful not to be too cautious with spending, and end up stagnating ourselves. Missing out on great signings for the sake of 500k-1m can be a false economy.

Excellent financial management overall. The long-term strategy is conservative and while that minimizes risk it means that improvement in the team is slow and sometimes erratic. All that I can live with easily. But decisions like killing the living wage initiative are penny wise and pound foolish (as well as morally questionable) in a business where you rely on the goodwill of your support as much as Celtic does. |

id like some carrot running the club who doesnt need to take the same amount in wages out of the club every week that our better players do. The business isnt that complicated, and the likes are ripping the pish. If they want epl wages for the role, then, like the players, they should fook off to southampton or stoke to earn it, and let the club spend the money better elsewhere, with someone on at least half the salary and bonus. aside that, corporate governance is good at the club, though some of the decisions made on players can be described as penny wise and pound foolish - the Hooper transfer ins and outs being a good example of that. |

Pretty much agree although sadly I think the board are out of touch and people like Peter Lawwell, while good business wise, are manipulators in the style of New Labour in its infancy; cringe-worthy slogans and using all the nice language (Celtic family, more than a club). This was exemplified by their disgraceful refusal to implement the Living Wage initiative. And I won't even touch the issue of Lord Reid being chairman prior to Bankier. I also can't abide the 'at least we won't die like the Rangers' retort to the slightest bit of questioning on our transfer policy. I do think it's the correct and only road we can go down and I have no problem with selling the likes of Wanyama for an 8 figure fee, but it needs tweaked. I also think the board need to grasp that perhaps fans are apathetic - shown by decline in attendances - because Leigh Griffiths, Teemu Pukki, Amido Balde or even 'Tony' Stokes don't excite the punters. For all our domestic dominance, I just want one striker worthy of the name and one winger supplying said striker who isn't inconsistent, perma-injured or an imposter. Is that too much to ask? |

Agree with this . Our place in world football is changing . We play in a back water and are Becoming an irrelevance (just like all Scottish clubs are ) to the super powered , financially doped teams n leagues now . Until we get put of this place I don't think we can ask anymore more of the board . It's just us fans who have to suffer the crushing reality Edited by mr green sky, 15 Jul 2014, 12:47 AM.

This is the crucial point (agree with everything else said by you and TW) and where the board need to up their game Scandanavian league, the initiatives in Belarus (think politics may stop that) all point the way fwd for the board to deliver a UK cup or Celtic summer league or north sea league or such like - anything to bring about change in environmentb O/wise we are effed |

Broadly happy, the club is on a sound financial footing and run with prudence, which is A Good Thing. I appreciate (and share) the frustration about the lack of a ‘star’ signing but as the mercifully short Mowbray era showed, it’s frighteningly easy to pish a lot of money against the wall if you make the wrong decisions, so I can understand the hesitation. That said, given money on wasted on guys who haven’t made the cut we might have been no worse off had we pushed the boat a bit on someone with (theoretically at least) ‘proven quality’. I tend to think Lawwell has passed his sell-by date though; he seems to be part of the problem now and to all intents and purposes appears to be operating as a de facto Director of Football. |

They run the club as a business very well, the only thing I would criticise is they could find a better balance between being conservative and investing money in the team. |

As a few have said overall happy. Just wish we had a star striker. I was too young to fully appreciate Larsson. |

I'm sure that one outrageous signing would be affordable as far as the transfer fee at least goes. The problem is that players signed for outrageous fees usually want outrageous wages, and once you've got one or two players on outrageous wages the rest will want parity. |

They're doing a good job in tough times. I have to laugh at guys who demand we spend money we don't have. We've dropped almost 33% in attendances in just over 10 years and if that picked up we could spend more, but it won't as the fair weather fan is only intertested in going when we splash out on big names. Its a vicious circle |
