Thistle should probably win this, although one thing nags at me.

It would be thoroughly in keeping with the SFA's reverse Midas touch for their new Chief Executive to preside over his current club's relegation, virtually the last thing he does before taking up his new job.

Livi v Hamilton as a potential top flight fixture next season. Grim.

I've heard Sky have claimed it for their schedule.

Thistle fans have an unhealthy hatred of us for some reason but I really hope they stay up.

One of the few teams outside Celtic/Rangers to take 1,000+ regularly to RP (I include Hearts and Hibs in that) and it's a far better day out that the soulless cesspit that is Livingston. Not one decent pub in the full town.

And the fact that Livi made the 1980s Wimbledon seem like ballet dancers.

Soft spot for Livingston, they aren't as bad as made out to be, they have actually played some decent stuff at times this season, hope they come up and show its not all long ball/kick everything that moves stuff

Livingston will bring absolutely nothing to the Premier table.
What about the best/worst stadium name?

Livingston will add nothing to the SPFL I'm afraid - either in attendances or football wise.

That game was absolutely dire. Constant lumping up the park. Thistle got sucked into Livis tactics. They should have got the ball on the ground and passed them out of the game. It doesn't bode well for Sunday for them if they can't get their act together.

I gave up on it at half time. Thistle started by trying to play football. However they are 11th in the Premiership for a reason. They are not very good at it, kept giving the ball away and were easily knocked out of their stride.

They need a bit of a rethink for Sunday based on that. Both Dundee United and Thistle now have been totally bullied by a team who'll run all day and crash into any manner of ridiculous challenges.

It's like watching the Junior Cup Final with Livingston.

No one is pretending Thistle are leading lights. They do though attempt to get it down and play a bit.

They also now have a far superior pitch to most of the teams in the top flight. There will be all manner of call offs next season if Livingston are in the top flight and they don't invest in their pitch.

Who says they won't? Anyway, if Livi don't come up then who should? Would Dunfermline or Thistle or United offer more? I doubt it.

There are some positives with Livi. It's a big town with no other major football clubs close by so they might bring a decent crowd. Facilities are good at the stadium as well. They're not Celtic Park good but everything is reasonably modern. I went to a few games against Livi back in the MON days. It's not a bad place to visit at all.

Dundee United would offer much more than Livingston. That should not really be in doubt. Dunfermline would also offer more. Simply because they are bigger clubs.

Next season they'll have one stand of fans, a bit like Hamilton, and it won't even be full. It'll be the same sort of embarrassment that we see every time a game is live from New Douglas Park.

Then there is the football.

They've had two administrations in 23 years, a demotion from tier two to tier four, and another five point penalty. All because of all sorts of shady financial and ownership irregularities, paying players undeclared bonuses with no tax paid etc.

It's Scotland mate. Aside from us, Sevco, Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs, the crowds at the other clubs are tiny. You're right about United and Dunfermline though, they're bigger clubs with a richer history. Would like to see United back up but they're a shambles right now. Can't see things getting better there for a long time.

Which is a helluva lot more football than Thistle managed to play last night.

Honestly, this snooty "what do they offer to the top flight?" patter needs binned. It's a meritocracy, if Thistle deserve to be in the top flight more than Livi then they'll beat them.

There are no positives with Livi. None. Zero. Effin zilch.

Attendances are shocking.
Pitch is terrible.
Football is dire.
Thugs on the pitch in the dugout and crooks in the boardroom.

Yeah, but the point I'm making is that Thistle don't really bring much better either. If they go down there's not really any big loss to the league. As Forza has said though, United and Dunfermline would be a better fit but as for Livi and Thistle, there's not much between them.

Except the fact it has been widely acknowledged that Thistle have been well run for a few years now. They've kept faith with Archibald (which may end up being their downfall) because they recognise the job of work he has done over the piece and shown him a bit of loyalty.

Yes, they are backed by the Weirs money, but they are developing a training ground and youth academy, and have made a significant investment in their pitch, which is one of the best in the top flight.

Don't get me wrong, this is all about football results and they'll be gone on Sunday if they don't significantly improve. Nobody owes them a thing if they can't finish above Hamilton or beat Livingston over two games.

But their's is undoubtedly a better approach than what we have seen from Livingston over the years.
