WTF is a Petrofac trophy when it's at home?
Something we will never need to concern ourselves with. New sponsor of Challenge Cup. Taken over from Ramsden.

Ah right, I must have missed the exciting news of a new sponsor for the least prestigious cup competition imaginable.

Any examples? I've never heard anything about this.
Remy's example is a good one in the public domain.

I used to ref a lot of youth football in and around Glasgow and used to encounter a few of them.

It is a tad pedantic on my part but my conscience rests beautifully knowing that I will never endorse that term.
Endorse it? Sounds a bit weird to me as its widely used in sport, a colt being a young horse. Certainly used lot in the US sports. If it makes you happy though.

I dont see why Green using it is seen as hunnish either. As Samule points out he's a yporkshireman and likely colt is used down there.

You can't complete an unprecedented quadruple without it.

The vast majority of Junior sides dingying the application to the Lowland leagues have made it much less of a Pyramid than it could be, and I'd imagine was originally planned.

In the absence of my daily World Cup fix tomorrow I contemplated heading along to Pittodrie for their first round qualifier in the UEFA cup; reckoned they'd want a fairly full house so £10-15 would seem value. £25 at the turnstile is a bit off putting for a 'why not' night out and as a consequence I suspect they'll struggle to break 7,500 against an 11k average last year. Scottish fitba could do so much more to make it attractive to drag one's arse off the couch of an evening.

I was at it with the last sentence.

I didn't know it was used in England, America or elsewhere. My experience of the term has been for huns, by huns. Hey ho.

There's no relegation from the highland league either I think.

So how does it work if, for example, a team from the highland league goes up and a southern team is relegated from the SPFL? Would the northern most lowland league team move across to the highland league to balance things out?
The French pyramidal system has two nationwide amateur leagues divided in regional groups. Each season, these groups (4 in CFA, 8 in CFA2) are rearranged to take the various regions achievement into account. Hence, progressively a strong region like Britanny absorbed neighbouring teams going down. Other factors are sometimes used to reshape the groups, especially to avoid rival supporters clash (Red Star 93 moved from Greater Paris to the Western area after riots started by PSG fans in their reserve game, for instance). To be honest, it quickly becomes a geographical nonsense.

Below that, the regional leagues have to accommodate the teams going down. If there's none, they'll keep in their top division the relegated teams. If they get more teams back than they send to the nationwide leagues, they change the number of teams in one of their five tiers, also divided in subregional groups by the way.

So you have two solutions :
- move teams between regions to keep the same format.
- keep the geographical division, and accept to have different numbers of teams.
From experience, a complete review needs be done after a few years. However it should be easier to handle with two regional leagues only.
Cheers HIP, clears a lot up

If Aberdeen concede an away goal here, they may regret it.

Need these teams to help us with the national co-efficient.

Rooney scores with the pen, 3-0 Aberdeen.
