He says he will stay with Morton in the third tier. What a fall.

Spare a thought for Kevin Thomson. Came on for Harris tonight after 68 minutes, who was himself a replacement for Haynes. To get relegated from the SPFL. With Hibs.

Half the price, twice the player remember Timmy.

Hibs  Something rotten at that club. It's a graveyard for players. Take Wotherspoon and Craig as an example - excellent for St Johnstone, utterly hopeless at Hibs.

I remember the last time we played Hamilton in the SPL at Celtic Park. I was in the LL stand close to the away support. I counted them - 83.
Yep.
I wonder if all those laughing at Hibs, and our league, going down the drain, pay any attention to this.
No disrespect to Hamilton and their on-field efforts, but today was not good for us.
Makes eff all difference IMO.

I'd far rather have a wee team run the right way who can actually play football than some dogshampoo Hibs side in the Premiership.

The technical quality of football next season is liable to be rather higher after today.

The crowds, blood, snot and piss will perhaps be in the Championship, but the football and the decent talent will be in The Premiership.

Presumably Leeds should be in the EPL rather than Fulham on that basis

Hibs have been relegated on sporting merit....the Scottish Premiership next season will have the 12 best teams in the country in it

Yeah, I do get all that.
Bigger picture is that our league needs Hibs more than Hamilton, I'm sorry.
The Leeds analogy is daft, with respect.
Scottish football is heading to League of Ireland zone.
Nothing in England is.

Edit. Sevco are a special case in this discussion.
Obviously

The league is a joke that nobody outside of Scotland cares about with or without Hibs in it.

Why is it that argument was balls for Sevco yet true for Hibs?

The well run teams are in the Prem next year, the money hungry sloths led by donkeys aren't.

Scottish football is effed and hanging on to rotten clubs lest we lose their value as a brand is horribly counter productive.

The only hope we have is reinventing Scottish football as a technically sound game played by teams who promote youth and sell players on to bigger things as part of a sound business model. Celtic included.

Hamilton can do that.

Hibs have Kevin Thomson on their payroll...

Getting on a bit

Next year's Premiership is better for having Hibs out and Hamilton in. Folk can argue about attendances if they want but the reason nobody is going is because the fare is atrocious - Hibs were about the worst of all and deserve to go, they were played off the park today.

Scottish football has suffered for years because it's effectively a closed shop. Clubs have played it safe and done nothing in mid table year after year, there was the stupid 10k seats and the one-up-one-down promotion relegation gave the SPL the well deserved self-preservation society label. We talk about wanting excitement in the game, well for the foreseeable future we are going to be the frontrunners by a distance, but this year the race at the bottom was fantastic, and would have been even better had Hearts not started with the deduction. If it's to be exciting then the bigger teams have to be in danger as well.

For what it's worth, having a challenge in the Championship is no bad thing either. For all the talk about how boring and bad for the game it is for Celtic to be the best team in the league there's been precious little worry about Sevco waltzing through the divisions. A bit of a challenge in there next season, 4 or 5 teams around the bottom of the premiership, no doubt some big teams there or thereabout in the playoff. There's loads to play for at every level, how people can say next season isn't one to look forward to in Scotland is beyond me.

Actually it's not. Thousands of ***** up and down the country love to talk Scottish football down at every opportunity and Hibs, who were absolutely stinking all season, going down is the latest thing to slag off Scottish football with.

I was wondering that too.

Anyway I think the inaugural SPL play off has been a wee bit of a success (unless you're a Hibee of course).
