Some of those keepers don't even qualify for the "he's a good shot stopper" cliche.

The tragic thing is that few of them will now have the opportunity to save a penalty against Hearts, which we all know is the catalyst that turns good goalkeepers great.

Those stats don't quite capture Dean Brill's capacity for goalkeeping calamity with the ball at his feet, which is on an almost unimaginable scale.

I hadn't bothered looking at the full SPFL table in a while, so it was only looking at those goalkeeper stats that's prompted me to check how many goals Motherwell conceded this season - 60!

Even Hibs didn't concede that many ffs.

Tony had plenty of managerial know how when awarded the post, but I was the only KDSer vehemently opposed to his appointment (hoping in vain someone of influence at Celtic would read and rethink) because I recognise some things in football managers, and realised his strengths lie in other areas.
:theclap:
Not the only one, mate.

I was dead against the Wondrous Chin from the moment we were seriously linked with him.

I don't think I've ever been so down at a managerial appointment in my Celtic supporting life.

Possibly the worst goalkeeper on that list that I've seen is Craig Samson. Almost every time we played St Mirren, he seemed to let in the softest goals ever. I was therefore shocked to see him then turn up at Kilmarnock. Less shocked to see him seem to repeat those performances each time we've played Kilmarnock this season. But perhaps the most surprising thing about him, is that some people seem to rate him as a goalkeeper? I think he may even have got a call-up to a Scotland squad at some point? Is it really just a case of a player having a bad time against us, but a solid goalkeeper against everyone else? I suppose it just highlights that I get to see very little of other Scottish players, unless they're playing against us.

Although the play offs created a bit of end of season entertainment I'm not fussed on the lay out of them, I would have 11th in the prem V 4th championship and 2nd V 3rd in the championship with the winners playing a one legged tie at a neutral venue. Think this set up would be fairer and provide a bit more entertainment

Haven't seen too much of him against other teams, but Samson might just be one of those keepers who's okay when called on a few times per game but can't cope with the sustained pressure we put teams under (domestically at least).

The stats posted on the previous page suggest he's not far off the average saves to shots ratio for the league, but has more saves to make than just about any other keeper in the league (barring MacDonald at Hertz I think)....which would suggest a half decent shot stopper who's left exposed too often by a scheidt defence.

Hibs one the first leg two nil away. Packed stadium. Will be a sell out crowd on Sunday as well I'd imagine.

Wish the original restructuring had gone ahead.

Didn't see any of the Hamilton-Hibs game, but the match report on the BBC website gives the English language an almighty mangling. Just awful writing.

Might just pop along to Easter Road on Sunday to see Hibs lose an early goal then hang on for dear life at the end of the game
