So Danny Lennon get the boot because St Mirren think they can do better and they appoint Tommy Craig?

Wow.
This. I suspect they have gone down the 'as cheap as possible' route.... especially seeing as current players Goodwin and Teale (!) will be assisting with coaching.

Relegation beckons i fear.... unless Dundee turn up with some halfwit like John Brown in charge.

Dundee are having a bit of clear out and a few players calling it a day / going. Rae retired, Nade punted. Think Hartley will keep them up next season.

For a lot of these middle of the road SPFL teams it's admirable that they want stability and momentum but somebody has to finish bottom.

Teams such as Hibs shouldn't be anywhere near the relegation zone with the clubs stature and money and teams like United & Aberdeen should be challenging in the cups every season again with the size of club and potential.

Teams such as ICT circa 2500/3000 home fans and County probably the same or even less shouldn't be able to compete with the fore mentioned teams but as we all know football is not played on paper.

p.s tommy craig :ffs: Largs Mafia carrot

Am I right in saying Tommy Craig made a bid for Cesars job as Terry Cassidy was punting big Billy?

Seen this earlier and thought it deserved a wee post in here. Didn't realise the trophy spread was as big as that.

See that's just it. If they're really going down the budget road then why bother punting Lennon in the first place? I can't imagine he was on big wages.

This seems to be a football decision. They didn't like the way Lennon's team played the game. Why on earth they think Tommy Craig is going to produce better quality is beyond me.

It's snake like in my opinion
Tommy Craig really is a slimey bastard. If you're brought in by a manager you don't take the mans job.

He stayed on too at Celtic too when Davie Hay was sacked. Despite Hay bringing him in.

Who expects morals in football eh?
To be fair, big Billy wanted Craig as assistant. He was hardly going to turn it down.

Kilmarnock won the 2011/12 season league cup, before the liquidation.

I see Mulgrew, Brown and Griffiths are in the Scotland squad for an utterly pointless friendly against Nigeria at the end of the month. Shouldn't we be pulling these guys out considering the limited time they have off before they're back playing real football and in important Champions League qualifiers?
:ponder: do you think this how it works or are you just belly-aching?
I think it's how it should work, yes. Our Champions League qualifiers in early July are much more important than some friendly in London. Lennon's often talking about resting players towards the end of the season because they don't get that long of a summer break, so why should we send two of our most important players (and Leigh Griffiths) off to some completely meaningless friendly after our season has ended?
If Lennon was worried about resting players for the CL qualifiers then he had ample opportunity to do so in the 7 "friendlies" we played after wrapping up the league.

If the players want to interrupt or delay their summer holiday for a Scotland friendly then let them. We used to give Deidco plenty of stick when Captain Unbookable and the rest of their Scotland internationals invariably pulled out of squads with mystery injuries that miraculously cleared up in time for the next Deidco game, I wouldn't want us to play the same game.

Well next season the Scottish Championship looks set to be far more exciting than the SPL!!!!! The biggest game in Scotland looks set to be Rangers v Hearts! In a strange way it would be good for Scottish football if Hibs went down as well! The crowds and excitement in the Championship will get Scottish football buzzing again, and make all 3 sides much stronger long term.

what Tosh, both Celtic v Aberdeen and Celtic v United are biggerand more important games

Truth be told St Mirren vs Ross County will be a bigger and more important game than anything that'll be happening in the Championship next season.

Don't let anyone fall for the pro-Sevco propaganda and confuse competitive with important - the Championship is still very much the second string league with also-rans scrapping for a chance to join the big boys the following season. Whether it's Hibs or Hamilton that join Hertz and Sevco you're still talking about teams that weren't good enough for the top tier trying to get back in.

As for it being competitive...the only reason anyone is anticipating that next season's Championship will be in any way competitive is Super Salary's utter incompetence as a manager. Given the squad they've got available (and they are likely to go ahead and sign even more players they can't afford this summer) then any kids club coach with his basic coaching badges would be expected to romp that league.

Just watched the Scottish news there showing the Scottish Cup being paraded through the streets of Perth. Couldn't help feel really happy for the Saints fans. What a feeling it must be for them winning their first ever major trophy. :)

Hearing vernon and Simon ferry are going to Dundee. I reckon with a few good signings they will stay up.

Technically Hearts would have been good enough for the play-offs.

If Hartley does well and Lennon stays a couple more years then I wouldn't mind seeing him in charge of us.

Done well at Alloa, and Dundee so far, let's see how he gets on full time in the spl
