Stuart McCall has done a tremendous job at Motherwell.
Apart from lifting his shirt to any hun team and not bothering with a semblance of a fek in europe
he's pyoor dead brilliant

he's a carrot
But I'm such a fan of him as a person :(

He's done well to get them to finish so consistently high up the table on a crap budget with seemingly crap players, I'm not saying he's a good tim or anything.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Take into consideration that the Rugby has an exclusive deal with BT whereas SPFL has a split deal between Sky/BT. It costs more to follow Celtic on TV than it would with a Rugby team.

The Sevco vs Dundee Utd on Sky Sports got 237k viewers (check BARB) go find an Aviva PL Rugby game with those type of numbers.

Is it not reasonable to believe that if the SPFL and the SFA were to strike and exclusivity deal with a single broadcaster that viewing ratings would increase because fans would be able to follow their team with just one subscription?
You're comparing how many viewers Scottish Football gets on Sky to how many viewers rugby gets on BT (with far less subscribers)? That's a fairly stupid argument.

The rugby regularly gets BT about 3 times as many viewers as Scottish football does.

Last months ICT v Aberdeen game on BT Sport got less viewers than the Liverpool Ladies v Man City Ladies they showed the night before
That's the thing though, it can't be compared fairly because the SPFL rights are shared between two broadcasters.

If you do add the figures together then you can't possibly argue against the fact that more people are watching the SPFL than the Aviva Premier League.

effing ***** Motherwell. Time for them to get shagged out of Europe at thr first time of asking. It'll be because of these shampooty wee clubs that CL will be gone in Scotland.

In terms of the league, McCall is consistently the biggest over achiever in Scottish football.

He's be a massive step up from McCoist if they gave him the gig.

You can, because the average SPL game on Sky doesn't draw what the Sevco v United game did (and wasn't even an SPFL game). Our game against Motherwell last month on Sky had 83k. That's less than rugby on BT only. Even if you combine the viewers of the SPL on Sky and BT most games would still get less than the rugby on BT.

Plus the obvious fact that if the rugby was on Sky it'd get miles more viewers than it does on BT given that Sky has about 10 times as many subscribers. In the same way the CL on ITV gets 10 times the viewers of the CL on Sky.

You said SPL audience on TV is:

Quote:

On par with or usually better than the (£152m that BT Sport paid for the rights) Aviva Premier League Rugby.

Whatever way you want to compare it, that statement it total and utter nonsense.

You think if the SPFL took games off Sky and had an exclusive deal with BT they'd increase their audience by 300% to overtake the Rugby?

The season before (2011/2012) BT bought the exclusive rights to the Aviva Premier League. Figures are from ESPN. These are 3 weeks I found that the SPL and APL were on the same week and were across the months of November 2011 to January 2012.

Aye. Viewing figures wouldn't jump with an exclusivity deal. Prior to the Aviva Premier League/BT deal Scottish football comfortably beats it for ratings on Sky and ESPN.

Myself and some of my barry radge chums here, where wondering just what in the blazes is going on with our Hibernians?
Perhaps Grant, I can call you Grant cant I? Perhaps with yourself being a celebrity Hibernianer, knew just what in the salt and sauce Terence Butcher is doing to make us all a bit more Famous Fivey like ken."

"I am bitterly sorry chaps but I'm just one of you gadgie type radges without the foggiest. I mean to say ken likes, I may be on tv, but I'm no Proclaimer now Am I eh?"

Sorry Mr Grant but that just will not wash, likes eh. We are being touched up something pure rotten and no mistake, we get man fondled more times than that Swedish weather filly, when she was seeking to defame your brother.. I tell you Mr Grant, it just will not do. We are pure unhappy likes ken, and wish to register our ire eh."

Oh my white pudding supper will be freezing chaps, I'd take you home for a brew and more chat, but you'll have had your tea eh? Toodle pip ya radge.

It's an improvement on what Aberdeen have been doing for nearly 20 years, that said I'd like to know who has the 2nd biggest budget in the league.

There is no obvious stand out candidate for manager of the year, Lennon won the league like he was expected to nothing else, although our league form is infinetly better than last season we were a joke in the cups again. McCall finished 2nd in the league again with the 6th biggest budget, McInness won Aberdeen their first cup in nearly 20 years & only lost 2nd place on the last day, St Johnstone have had a great season & could win a cup should their manager get the award? I thought Dundee United had an average league campaign but could win the Scottish Cup.

Even further down Archibald kept Thistle up and above clubs with bigger budgets than they have.

The award should be voted on after the SC final, like in 2009 WGS won Manager of the Year despite Rangers winning the league & cup double.

I would loved killie to go down/had a play off to go down

not because Hibs are a big club but because the media are dying for Hibs to go down and join the gruesome twosome, and make that league out to be the be all and end all

I hope that Butcher is able to get Hibs up for the play offs - I couldn't stand a summer of the media spouting their pash
