Just to try to cheer ourselves up and wallow in nostalgia . What have been your favourite chants over the years ? For me, loved the following over the decades: 70s. Harry hood song. Jimmy, jimmy jimmy jimmy Johnstone on the wing. Alfie conn-used to be a hun and ohhhhh Alfie Alfie! 80s tommy twists, tommy turns, Charlie, Charlie ( and Grieg must stay!) 90s George cadete putting the ball in the nettie! 2000s. Henrik kok Also liked the celtic chant to hey Jude . Appreciated some other teams. Eg Leeds song for Thomas brolin- to the tune of rawhide! And newcastles for ketsbaia to kumbaya. Any that still stick in the mind? |

Funny enough, when I read the title of your thread, that was the very chant that came into my head.

To the tune of Daisy Oh Bobby Lennox give us a goal or two wer'e all crazy over the celts and you and when you were in your glory your better than Jimmy McGrory a Murdo pass along the grass and we know that your through for 2 The one about walking down London road singing a song. (Really took off when we played Copenhagan at Parkhead around 72)with a na na na na na na na. The Harry Hood song of course When we score a barra load down the Copland road we'll be there. (song dedicated to the quality street kids when we put over twenty goals past them in three reserve games in 71 or thereabouts) circa 1980s we're gonnay win, we're gonnay win the league we're gonnay................. repeated continuously for about twenty minutes en route to Burnley, Highbury, Montrose and various other salubrious venues. I'd rather wear a turban than a..................oh. Let's not go there. 1960s pre poltically aware era. Colin Stein song The Holy Ground once more. when everyone shouted Fine girl you are at the end of each chorus. Edited by culchie, 27 Jan 2013, 11:01 PM.

For a beautiful week in the original PLG era when the huns were in fifth place, "By the Hearts, the Hibs and the Kilmarnock, We shall not be moved..." was just peachy. |

Loved the Jimmy Johnstone chant at the 2006 LCF, but my favourite has to be "When the balls in the net, and it's not Jorge Cadete, it's Di Canio." |
